
Zapfino is a calligraphy typeface designed for Linotype by renowned typeface designer Hermann Zapf. It is based on an alphabet Zapf originally penned in 1944. As a font, it makes extensive use of ligatures (typography) and character variations. Apple includes a version of Zapfino in Mac OS X, partly to demonstrate the advanced typographic features of Apple Advanced Typography’s morx table format.
