User:GuanacoUser talk:Guanaco 05:55, 28 Jun 2004 (UTC) ---- Hello you could call me Lady Yuna. I'm a big fan of the Final Fantasy series. Yuna#redirect User talk:Michael YunaYuna (ユウナ (yuuna) in the Japanese version) is a playable main character in both ''Final Fantasy X'' and ''Final Fantasy X-2'' of the Final Fantasy video games series from Square Enix. She is voiced by Mayuko Aoki in the Japanese language versions of both games, and by Hedy Burress in the English language versions. "Yuna" is Ainu language for "blossom" and Okinawan language for "night." == Yuna in ''Final Fantasy X'' == [[Image:Yuna_ffx.png|thumb|125px|Yuna in ''Final Fantasy X'']] Born in Bevelle and brought up on the island of Besaid on the world of Spira, at the start of ''Final Fantasy X'' Yuna is 17, a quiet, serious girl wearing formal robes that stand in stark contrast to Tidus's outgoing clothing. Yuna is a Summoner (character class) of Yevon and has the ability to summon powerful creatures known as "Aeons". She is meek in manner and soft-spoken, and harbors doubts about her mission, which she struggles to hide from her companions. She is also half Al Bhed, on her mother's side, and for this reason, has heterochromia iridis: one blue and one green. Yuna, as a summoner, travels across Spira to end the threat the malevolent force "Sin (Final Fantasy)" poses to her world, with the help of her Aeons, including Valefor, Ifrit, Ixion, Shiva and Bahamut. With her, Yuna can take guardians, whose job it is to protect her along her journey. Yuna starts off with three guardians: Kimahri, who took care of her after she was orphaned; Lulu (Final Fantasy), who acts as her big sister and her confidante; and Wakka, with whom Yuna has her fun and laughs. When Tidus arrives, a stranger on her home island of Besaid, she takes him in as her fourth guardian. Later Auron, who was guardian to her father, is accepted as her fifth guardian; and Yuna's maternal cousin Rikku, who becomes Yuna's best friend, is the sixth and final guardian to join her. Through the course of the game, Yuna is forced to grow in character—she becomes battle-hardened fighting Sin's Sinspawn creatures, her Yevonite beliefs are challenged and eventually torn to shreds, and her growing relationship with Tidus makes her reevaluate her quest. As she learns more about Sin, against whom she must bring the Final Summoning, she gets caught up in the plots of Maester Seymour, and is kidnapped. Her realisations of Seymour and the other Maesters' manipulations of the truth force her to separate herself from her faith, and when Tidus eventually learns the full implication of the Final Summoning, and all Yuna's quest—that Yuna will sacrifice herself, as her father did, in order to bring about a temporary Sin-free era (a Calm)—his perspective persuades her they can find another, more permanent, way to rid Spira of the threat of Sin. Tidus and Yuna's mutual love (which comes to a head in the Sphere Theatre scene 'The Spring') intensifies as the quest draws to a confrontation with Sin, and then the evil at the heart of Spira's sorrows, Yu Yevon. However, after Yevon is defeated, Yuna's bastion, in Tidus, is taken from her by the hands of the fayth she had been allies with. == Yuna in ''Final Fantasy X-2'' == [[Image:Ffx-2-yuna.jpg|right|thumb|Yuna in ''Final Fantasy X-2'']] Two years later, in ''FFX-2'', Yuna has become a celebrity for her role as saviour of Spira and deliverer from Sin. However, restless on Besaid, she sets out as a 'Sphere Hunter' (a new craze sweeping Spira) as a member of the Gullwings, whose members include her long-time companion Rikku, a new mysterious woman named Paine, Al Bhed whiz kid Shinra, Brother, and his friend Buddy. Together with Rikku and Paine, the trio are "YRP" (called YuRiPa in the Japanese version). In terms of personality, Yuna is a changed person in ''Final Fantasy X-2'': she is more open and direct, and wears a very different outfit for a change of pace (and possibly Rikku's influence). However, her friends still occasionally tease her about her old habit of being a pushover -- such as her readiness at taking in-game sidequests. Her relationships from ''Final Fantasy X'' have given her a new look at life and, freed from the responsibilities of her role as summoner, she seems to be a much happier person. Her purpose for travelling with the Gullwings, however, goes beyond a simple sense of adventure: Yuna searches for clues regarding Tidus, the cause of his disappearance and his current whereabouts. Her investigations lead her into the sinister plots of Shuyin and the various warring factions of a post-Sin Spira, in particular the Youth League and New Yevon. The Gullwings in general, and Yuna in particular, seek to restore some sense of unity and peace to a dangerously divided world, as well as to stop forces which would seek to damage Spira even further, such as the apocalyptic machina Vegnagun. The player's actions throughout the course of the game determine whether or not Yuna ever manages to solve the mystery of Tidus's disappearance. ==External link== *[http://www.ffonline.com/ff10/yuna.htm Yuna at Final Fantasy X Online] Final Fantasy X characters See other meanings of words starting from letter: YWords begining with Yuna: Yuna Yuna Yuna Yuna's_Revenge Yuna's_Revenge Yunadam_Kanna Yunalesca Yunanistan Yuna_River Yuna_Roma_Seiran Yuna_Roma_Seylan |
