Wiarton District High School was opened up in 1892. WDHS serves for Wiarton and the immediate areas including Sauble Beach, Hepworth, Oliphant, Red Bay and others. The WDHS hockey team is considered to be the best High School hockey team in the District (Bluewater District School Board). WDHS teams have also had success at volleyball, and also badminton. The school will be closing sometime in the next school year. All students will transferred to the new JK-12 school called Peninsula Shores District School.
