The affairs of ''Vikramshila University'' was looked after a President, and one such President, Atish Dipankar Srigyan, was famous in the-then Buddhist world for his knowledge in the field of Buddhist Philosophy. Remains of the ancient Vikramshila University have been excavated at village Antichak in the Bhagalpur district, Bihar state, India.
