''I occasionally clear this page when the comments are no longer useful to me.'' ==Image:Akhenaton.jpg== I see you went through and gave tags to images that were untagged previously, which is a good thing. But I don;t get where you came up with the idea that Image:Akhenaton.jpg was PD. The original poster claims it is uncopyrighted, but then he claims that of everything he uploaded, largely under the incorrect belief that anything from a website that didn;t have a copyright notice on it is uncopyrighted. That's bad in iteself, but he actually provided a weblink to where he got it from this time (which is unual for him) and the page very clearly claims copyright on all contents. The photo is of a three-dimensional image, so the legal argument that recent photos of two-dimensional objects that are older than 100 years doesn't apply here. User:DreamGuy 04:31, Mar 21, 2005 (UTC) == Alfa Romeo 158 == I don't get this; the article's about Alfa Romeo 159. Should it be moved? User:Eixo 07:03, 8 May 2005 (UTC) Well, I don't really know much about cars, that's why I left it to you to decide what to do. If it is 159 then the page should be moved, if it's 158 then the page should be edited back to that. A quick internet search gives 2,340 for "158" and 112,000 for "159", so it seems the correct thing would be to move the page? User:Eixo 08:10, 8 May 2005 (UTC) == Auto infoboxes == Thanks for adding the info boxes! It's nice to have another person who finds them useful. I made a few edits, but welcome your future contributions! In short, I moved the boxes to the top (they look better this way) and integrated any existing photo into the box itself. I also used "wagon" for the body style rather than SUV which is more of a market segment or class. Next, I used the non-breaking spaces with the proper units (L) for liters. And I removed any empty fields. And I've about given up on the "automobile series" junk - it's not useful really. Anyway, don't take this all as a negative - your contributions are welcomed and these articles would not have had an infobox if not for you! Come on over to Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles for more car stuff... --User:Sfoskett 15:10, May 31, 2005 (UTC) == "Logoitis"? == Hey man, what's that logo adding spree all about? :-) I don't know whether you got the (attempt at a sobering) message from my reverting one of those additions a couple of days ago ('twas an article on some piece of IBM hardware), with an edit summary text that in fact commended your adding a logo on the more general article (List of IBM products). Have you discussed the logo inclusion matter with other Wikipedians? (if not, let me point out what I intended to say in my abovementioned edit summary: IMO, logos on general articles and list articles are not only OK but great---an asset to WKP---but logos on each and every article connected to some company or organisation having a logo is a patently Bad Thing; it just clutters up the article layouts). Please have no hard feelings, I just had to voice my opinion of genuine concern. --User:Wernher 00:44, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC) :Thank you for diagnosing my "logoitis". I wasn't aware of ''any'' response from anyone, including yourself. I have not discussed the logos with other Wikipedians. There are no hard feelings. This is what ''Wikipedia'' is all about. In light of your opinion, I will now stop the "logo adding spree". —User:Vespristiano 00:55, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC) ::And to you: thanks for your lightning-fast response. :) I hope we'll be able to come to some kind of concensus in this matter---I honestly wouldn't like to 'overrule' other Wikipedians' contributions as a result of my expressing my meanings in an overly forceful way. Anyway, as I said above, I absolutely see the advantage of having the logos displayed in the list articles; it gives the lists a kind of 'instant recognition' look. Another good example is the List of Intel microprocessors one. I also have a suggestion that would let us add the admittedly nice 'logo factor' to many product articles without being intrusive. I'd make a case for including a small logo in the heading of some of the relevant 'list boxes' (implemented as templates); Template:Motorola processors Template:Motorola microcontrollers I think would be typical candidates for a one-liner logo*. --User:Wernher 01:28, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC) ::(* or ''two'' logos, actually; a Motorola one to the left and a Freescale Semiconductor one to the right---we only need to find the basic versions of the logos, i.e. the versions w/o blurbs attached... ) ::: I agree with your suggestion. (I admit I haven't taken time to educate myself on Motorola and Freescale, but wouldn't using one logo or the other be better than using both?) By the way, I spent a month in Norway two years ago, and I was exceedingly impressed. —User:Vespristiano 01:44, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC) ::::The reason I suggested using both logos for the Motorola chip listboxes was that 1) the industry knows these chips to have been developed and marketed by Motorola since the late 70s/early 80s and up to the spinoff of its semiconductor division into Freescale (a sad move, if you ask me...) and 2) now that the chips are sold by Freescale, the listbox should reflect this too. I think two smallish logos can be placed in the box's heading quite 'low key'-ish wrt layout. Let me have a go at it and then tell me what you think (just give me a some days to get it done; I should really go to bed now, it's 4am+ over here...). :::: BTW, cool to hear you've been to Norway. We do have a nice country, yes, particularly our steep mountains and deep fjords. A little chilly in the winter, though, but many of us even enjoy that; we go skiing a lot. I have lots of relatives in the U.S. (in FL, MD, upstate NY, OH, WI, CA) and am looking forward to go see them within the next couple of years. I have this grand plan to get a flight to D.C., go visit my cousin in MD, then go by train from D.C. to NY-->OH-->WI, and then to Chicago and fly back from there. :) --User:Wernher 02:05, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC) ::: I have now included a small Intel logo in Template:Intel controllers Template:Intel processors. I'm not totally satisfied, however; I'd like the logo to be centered vertically, but that would probably require a small amount of image cropping to make the logo image itself be centered. --User:Wernher 05:07, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC)
