Vampire: The Dark AgesVampire: The Dark Ages is a role-playing game originally published by White Wolf Game Studio in 1996. Later, in 2002, the gameline was replaced by Dark Ages: Vampire. The original game was set in the year 1197, while the 2002 edition updated the setting to the year 1230. Both, however, are set in a dark medieval Europe where vampires openly rule the nights. Additionally, with the release of Dark Ages: Vampire, several other game lines were added, Dark Ages: Werewolf, Dark Ages: Mage, Dark Ages: Inquisitor, and Dark Ages: Fae, each contributing to the shared setting. A related game, set in modern times, is Vampire: The Masquerade. The main differences stem from the historical setting (both real and fictional). In ''Dark Ages'', vampires rule the night and some are even revered and worshipped, though the powers of the Inquisition and other mortal foes restrain their freedom. The Tremere clan is in its infancy and at war with the powerful Tzimisce, but they have not yet imposed their blood curse on the Assamite. World of Darkness Vampires in games Vampires in written fiction Vampire: The Dark Ages==Expansion request== It is a shame that this article is short, given the richness of the Dark Ages setting. Vampire: The Masquerade seems to be grabbing all the attention. :) The clan pages need to be changed a bit to accomodate the "old" information. I've added a very short note on the differences between the two games, but much more is needed (mention the history in between, the foundation of the Sabbat (White Wolf) and the Camarilla, the blood curse of the Tremere on the Assamite, the Tzimisce breaking their blood bonds, etc. etc.). The list of differences could very well be placed in a separate page. --User:Pablo-flores 13:38, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC) See other meanings of words starting from letter: VWords begining with Vampire:_The_Dark_Ages: Vampire:_The_Dark_Ages Vampire:_The_Dark_Ages |
