Tom Fitzpatrick was a senior Irish politician. He was first elected to Dil ireann in 1965 as a Fine Gael TD (parliament) for Cavan. Fitzpatrick served in the Irish Government on several occasions under two Taoiseach, Liam Cosgrave and Garret FitzGerald. He also served as Ceann Comhairle on one occasion.
