The Boys of Summer

"The Boys of Summer" is a book by Roger Kahn, recounting the history of the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team up to their victory in the 1955 World Series, and tracking the lives of the players over the subsequent years as they aged. The book takes its name from a verse by Dylan Thomas. ---- "The Boys of Summer" is a rock and roll song by Don Henley. It was the lead off track to Henley's 1984 in music album ''Building the Perfect Beast'' and was a major hit, reaching #1 on the Billboard magazine rock tracks list. The song has a haunting rhythm and feel throughout the intro, bridge, and verses, but a 'summer-ey' hook and guitar tones. It is widely speculated that the song is about the passing of youth and entering middle age, with the obvious theme of 'summer love' apparent in the choruses. In 2003 in music, the song again became a Top 40 hit as a remake by both The Ataris and, in Europe, by DJ Sammy. 1984 singles
