
The Sword Coast is a region in Faerûn, of the Forgotten Realms campaign setting. It is a portion of the northwestern coast of Faerûn, and includes the major cities Neverwinter, Baldur's Gate and Waterdeep (city). The Sword Coast looks out onto the Sea of Swords. Icewind Dale is the arctic and northernmost region of the Sword Coast. Because of its quasi-lawless, "frontier" setting, being a place where all races can meet and interact, it has been the setting for many list of Dungeons & Dragons modules, as well as the computer games ''Neverwinter Nights'' and ''Baldur's Gate series''.
