== Rose-ringed Parakeet ==
Hi Sundar,
On the german Wikipedia there is a funny linguistic article :de:Halsbandsittich in vielen Sprachen (i.e. "Rose-ringed Parakeet in many languages") which compares the word for the Rose-ringed Parakeet (Psittacula krameri) in a lot of languages. It seems nobody was sure enough about Tamil to add a Tamil entry in the main table, but someone unearthed the following information:
# ''"kiLLai" is a rather unspecific word used for this parrot''
# ''rural Tamils use sometimes a more specific "aarmavizuntakiLi"''
Can you confirm or deny these points? Can you give the names in Tamil script?

It looks really nice to see Tamil as a featured article on the Tamil New Year Day 2005. Really commendable work. Congratulations and best wishes. I had learnt about your elevation to Admin level on the day you got the elevation. Plz accept my congrats. --User:Bhadani 03:35, 14 Apr 2005 (UTC)

Hey there. I reverted your edit on Wikipedia:Featured article removal candidates/archive because the page is an archive of older nominations, on which a decision has already been made. If you want to vote for or against the removal of featured articles, please do so Wikipedia:Featured article removal candidates. The article you voted on, India, was kept as a featured article by the way. :-) --User:ContiE|User talk:ContiE 17:48, Apr 14, 2005 (UTC)
== About article Bihar ==
I find that the article Bihar has been edited by some one and changed to Bihar (India), and other articles with the same name has been also referred to there. I feel this is not a wise step. The matter requires assistance and discussions so that the article Bihar gets its former name. Please try to do something.--User:Bhadani 03:47, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)
PS- I have posted the following on discussion page of article bihar:
quoteThe edits of 17 April 2005 by Hottentot has been reverted by me as already there was a section in the article Bihar – Bihar (disambiguation) and as such there was no justifiable reason to change the main character by the name Bihar. The edits regarding Bihar by Hottentot are being placed in the section Bihar (disambiguation) . Here, it is also pertinent to note that though wikipedia sets its own standard, but even in Enclopaedia Britannica Bihar has been separately dealt with, and in my humble opinion the case with wikipedia should not be different. The article Bihar represents a state of India and 100 million people reside in Bihar and Bihar has a recorded history of 2500 years. In any case, the position of Bihar as a separate article was already accepted by the community of wikipedians as the legend Bihar (disambiguation) was there along with the main article of Bihar.
I trust that the position has been clarified.Unquote
I find this article has again been reverted by Hottentot. Please try to do something. Thanks.--User:Bhadani 05:00, 17 Apr 2005 (UTC)

hello, i am from china. my english is not good. in wikipedia, i think the opinions of most of us must be adiaphorous. the indian map has a limitation. you can contrast the maps i upload and the maps previously.--User:Lkkity 06:54, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

** Thanks for your comments - I will surely redo the article, removing unnecessary adjectives, etc. I have to add some more matters. Then, someone will have to copyedit the matter, etc. etc. I look forward to you for your suggestions. I am on a vacation so I am able to work more on wikipedia, at least for one more week, then I will continue for sure. By the way, I have also got a "prize" type of "thing" (hahha) - kindly see my User page, in case u have not seen that after ur return from leave. I will look forward to you people who are very younger than me in age, but are old wikipedians. bye now.--User:Bhadani 06:16, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC)

== Map of India ==
Hi Sundar, I'm having a bit of trouble on :Image:Indiastates&utnumbered.png (Image talk:Indiastates&utnumbered.png), an NPOV map of India made by User:Nichalp. User:Amitroy5 (User talk:Amitroy5) keeps on reverting the map to a POV version, and has so far ignored all of my attempts to discuss the map on both his own talk page and the talk page of the image.
If possible, can you help me out on this matter, and try to talk to this guy? Thanks in advance. -- User:Ran (User talk:Ran) 23:58, Apr 29, 2005 (UTC)
Hi Sundar, Amitroy5 is still reverting the map repeatedly, but he's not engaging in further discussion. What do you think I should do? I'm thinking about putting the page up for RFC. -- User:Ran (User talk:Ran) 21:49, May 4, 2005 (UTC)

== Wikipedia ==
The article was victim to a page-move vandal, and I was trying to delete the redirect in order to move it back. However, due to server slowness, I kept getting error messages, and in the meantime someone beat me to it and moved the real article back to where it belongs. The article still ended up deleted, despite the error messages, and though I tried many times to restore it, it timed out every time. I requested on IRC that someone restore it (and User:Kingturtle did; see [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ALog&type=delete&user=&page=Wikipedia]), and it seems to be all fixed now. 11:50, 6 May 2005 (UTC)
== Astrology ==
Are aware of an article about "Tamil palm leaf astrology" or something like that on either en.wikipedia or ta.wikipedia? I'm maybe searching for the right title. Name may also be "nadi" or "naadi" in whatever transliteration. An article on this has popped up on the german Wikipedia but I fear the author hasn't got that much right: :de:Palmblattbibliothek. --User:Pjacobi 14:15, 2005 May 6 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks for the welcome, Sundar. I am looking through the pages - I don't know if I'll be able to contribute much but I'll try.. May 6 '05
== Copying to Commons ==
Hi Sundar,
Thanks for copying my photo :Image:30-St-Mary-Axe.jpg over to the Commons. I'll probably get around to moving my other photos eventually, but there is always other stuff that needs doing.
However, when you move images to the Commons, I think you are supposed to copy over the source and attribution info as well. At the moment, the 30-St-Mary-Axe photo is effectively a copyright violation. I'll fix this one, but you might want to check any other images you've moved over.
There's also a template Sundarta:User:Sundar

Is there some kind of chemical released by all foods when it decomposes? My housemates theorized that there must be a chemical reaction with the bin liner, but that is a lame hypothesis. And the above question on colour is a very wiktionary:poignant one too. :There seems to be a small group of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are produced by the putrescence of rubbish. These include putrescine and cadaverine. See [http://dwb.unl.edu/Teacher/NSF/C10/C10Links/www.pharmcentral.com/flavors.htm here] for some more detailed chemistry. --User:Heron 15:00, 10 Jan 2005 (UTC) I wonder if it's also likely that your rubbish bin tends to smell the same since, over the average week, you tend to put the same things in it. Of course, to see if this is true, you ought to seek out the bins of people who are likely to have a different diet to yourself and give their bins a good sniffing. I think any problems of a social nature that may arise from this activity would be more than compensated by your increased wisdom. Alternatively you could ''wuss out'' and decide that next week you are going to have a themed diet in the household: see what happens if you and your co-habitees live entirely on cake for 7 days. Surely that's an experiment with broad appeal? --User:62.255.64.4 00:42, 16 Jan 2005 (UTC) ---- ==Wikiprojects== ==Licence== I agree to Wikipedia:Multi-licensing all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below: See other meanings of words starting from letter: SSB | SC | SD | SE | SF | SG | SH | SI | SJ | SK | SL | SM | SN | SO | SP | SR | SS | ST | SU | SW | SX | SY | SZ |Words begining with Sundar: Sundar Sundar Sundar/Admin_related Sundar/Admin_related/my_adminship_election Sundar/Archive0 Sundar/Archive1 Sundar/Archive2 Sundar/Archive3 Sundar/monobook.js Sundar/My_rants Sundar/Protoplasm Sundar/Publications_and_other_work Sundar/Srinath_Srinivasa Sundar/Srinath_Srinivasa Sundar/Tamil_language Sundar/Thedal Sundaramsahnee Sundaravadivel Sundarbans Sundarbans_mangroves Sundarbans_National_Park Sundarbans_National_Park Sundargarh Sundarlal_Bahuguna Sundar_Popo Sundar_rao Sundar_rao |
