I don't know if anyone will spot this, but is this the message used for the word ''Summary:'' next to the edit summary line on the edit screen? If so, I gather that some people are put off using a summary because they don't know what it's a summary ''of'', and I therefore suggest changing it to "Edit summary", which would seem to clear that up. On a side-note, I bet this has already been said, but: It would be really, ''really'' useful if there was somewhere a guide to what MediaWiki messages were used where in the software and how, otherwise the whole purpose of making them wiki-editable is somewhat defeated, because you don't know ''what'' to edit. Perhaps some nice developer who knew could go through and add a default message at the top of each MediaWiki talk: page (built into the software like the default messages themselves), explaining the purpose of the attached message. If anyone changes it back, can they also change :Image:Edit Summary-2.png which is a screenshot of the new version and is used on help pages like Wikipedia:Edit summary. When Wikipedia:How to edit a page there is a small field labelled "Wikipedia:Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this: : The text written here will appear on the Special:Recentchanges page, in the Wikipedia:Page history, on the m:MediaWiki User's Guide: Diff, and in the meta:MediaWiki User's Guide: Using the Watchlist of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature. When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for WP:-( and may be WP:RV, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.
