If CltFn or someone else wants to write actual articles, they should be able to. If all they do is put in the TOC and a few quotes again, we can always redirect it. If you're interested in helping to deal with some of CltFn's POV contributions, I think you should feel free to edit. Someone else can always take care of admin stuff. I do like your suggestion that he pick an article and work on that. User:Rhobite 21:26, Jun 22, 2005 (UTC) == Heads up to you== Thanks for unprotecting the various book pages you had locked yesterday. I want to make it known upfront what my intentions are. * I intend on undoing the redirects of the book pages you redirected yesterday. * As there is no prohibitions from wikipedia (or US copyright policy under fair use) on quotes and table of contents I will also include those in my edits using my own judgment. * I intend on restoring the chapter lists that you blanked out on various pages as there is no copyright basis for their removal under fair use. * I do not consider any of my edits set in stone and they are fair game for discussion , and changes based on consensus on the talk page. * If I create a stub with quotes and a chapter list please realize that it is just that, a stub . All articles start with some sort of skeleton upon which further material gets added. * It is understood, that wikipedia policy is to be followed. --User:CltFn 23:25, 22 Jun 2005 (UTC) :: SlimVirgin based on you comments on request for arbitration , I see that you are over-reacting to this. Are you confusing me with other revert warriors or something?? I am not , I have never violated the 3RRs, and if my inserts violate NPOV I am amenable to changes. The point is that if some inserts are within the parameters allowed by wikipedia policy , I see no reason why I must refrain from them just because some other editors do not like the implications. --User:CltFn 00:08, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC) *01:06, Jun 23, 2005, Ed Poor blocked CltFn (expires 04:06, Jun 23, 2005) (contribs) (unblock) (NPOV violations, harassing admin) User:Ed Poor user talk:Ed Poor 01:08, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC) == Maybe later... == ... I have no problem with you protecting the page if you think it necessary. If I see the page being reverted again today, I'll do it myself. I'm keen not to protect it on the trolling version. I think unprotecting was the right move though, as there has now been a reasonable compromise created, and the only remaining problem is the trolling. Cheers, and thanks for respecting my decision. User:smoddy 08:59, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC) :What about us lot? Messing about making some weird free encyclopedia thing... Can't we see that it's doomed to failure?! I have a feeling that a lot of people are getting tired with Eyeon's trolling, and there would be a lot of support for any blocking action. I don't really care for the opinions of trolls. ==About me== I'm an administrator so if you need help, you can leave a note on User talk:SlimVirgin or on one of the admins' noticeboards — WP:AN/3RR, WP:VIP, and WP:AN/I. My interests are the Middle East, terrorism, philosophy, psychoanalysis, human rights, animal liberation, and resistance training. I've made [http://kohl.wikimedia.org/~kate/cgi-bin/count_edits.cgi? 11,000 edits.] My user name comes from the Java (island) legend of ''Loro Jonggrang'', the SlimVirgin, a princess who promised herself to a suitor if he would build her a magnificent temple containing 1,000 statues between sunset and dawn. The suitor called on genies to help him, but the princess cheated by having her servants make the sounds of dawn too soon, so that the cocks crowed early, and the genies ran away. In a rage, the suitor turned the SlimVirgin to stone, and the statue inside the :Image:The temple of the Slim Virgin.jpg in the Prambanan complex of temples is said to be the princess herself. Having learned her lesson, the SlimVirgin now prizes Wikipedia:Verification and Wikipedia:Assume good faith above all. __NOTOC__ =='''We're not here to rewrite history ...''' == Wikipedia is reproduced all over the Web without editing and often without attribution, which means our mistakes spread fast, leading readers to think they're seeing confirmation of something when all they're getting are false echoes. Dort, wo man Bücher verbrennt, verbrennt man am Ende auch Menschen. — Heinrich Heine
==Ignorance and want== "They were a boy and a girl. Yellow, meagre, ragged, scowling, wolfish; but prostrate, too, in their humility. Where graceful youth should have filled their features out, and touched them with its freshest tints, a stale and shrivelled hand, like that of age, had pinched, and twisted them, and pulled them into shreds ... "'Spirit, are they yours?' Scrooge could say no more. "'They are Man's,' said the Spirit. 'This boy is ''Ignorance''. This girl is ''Want''. Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy ...'" — Charles Dickens, ''A Christmas Carol''

==How to be a good Wikipedia editor== 1) Be nice. Praise people when you see things being done well. Write personal notes to people on their talk pages saying what a good edit such-and-such was. You can make someone's day with some positive feedback. 2) Don't engage in unnecessary personal criticism or personal attacks. At the same time, let people know that you're able and willing to stand up for yourself and your edits, but not to the point of being obnoxious. 3) Try to be reasonable. If you can establish a reputation as a reasonable editor, people will forgive you almost any other quirk. Try not to get on your high horse over an issue. Don't become a single-issue editor. And when you see that an argument has gone decisively against you, walk away no matter how annoyed you are. Never Wikipedia:Don't disrupt Wikipedia to make a point. 4) Read Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, Wikipedia:Verifiability, and Wikipedia:Cite sources, and stick to them even when it's killing you. 5) Vote for responsible people to become Wikipedia:Requests for adminship, even if you disagree with them politically. 6) Vote for articles that are going through the Wikipedia:Featured article candidates. Read them carefully, make constructive suggestions, and give praise where it's due, because it really is harder than it looks to get an article through that peer review. 7) Try to steer an article that you've written to featured-article status. It's hard work, but it will establish you as a serious editor. 8) Don't criticize Wikipedia:List of administrators unduly and don't jump on admin-attack bandwagons. It's easy to make mistakes as an admin, so be generous in your dealings with them. You'll usually find that they, in turn, will be generous in their dealings with you. 9) Try to avoid revert wars. Never violate Wikipedia:Three revert rule. Be self-limiting in how many times you revert a page in a day. Try to get consensus on talk before reverting. If you do revert without prior discussion, explain why on talk. 10) Contribute well-researched, well-referenced content, no matter how humble, to the encyclopedia, and discuss your edits on talk pages. Don't spend all your time on talk, but don't closet yourself away in the encyclopedia either. This is a community. Be part of it. ==Useful links==
