Simon BisleySimon Bisley is a British comic book artist who was hugely popular in the 1990s for his work on ''ABC Warriors'', ''Lobo (comics) '' and ''Sláine (comics)''. His style, reliant on paints and airbrushing as well as inks, was strongly influenced by Frank Frazetta and Bill Sienkiewicz, and took inspiration from rock album covers and graffiti as well as traditional comics art. He spawned many imitators, and for a while poor imitations of his style became the dominant form of artwork in ''2000 AD (comic) ''. While still a student Bisley did a painting of a robot holding a baby that he sent to the offices of 2000AD. The image was seen by Pat Mills and inspired him to relaunch the ''ABC Warriors'' strip with Bisley as artist in 1987. Following this he took over drawing of ''Sláine''. Bisley also drew the much anticipated cross-over of Judge Dredd and Batman. Bisley is currently an occasional contributor to ''Heavy Metal (magazine)''. == External links == * [http://www.simonbisleyonline.com/ simonbisleyonline.com] * [http://www.2000adonline.com/index.php3?zone=droid&page=profiles&choice=SIMONB 2000 AD Profile] ---- Comics artists British comics artists 2000 AD Creators See other meanings of words starting from letter: SSB | SC | SD | SE | SF | SG | SH | SI | SJ | SK | SL | SM | SN | SO | SP | SR | SS | ST | SU | SW | SX | SY | SZ |Words begining with Simon_Bisley: Simon_Bisley |
