Right Honourable#redirect The Right Honourable Right HonourableThe following was removed: or being the son of a Lord other than the heir to the title. I think that is mistaken. In that case the honorofic is ''The Honourable'' (written as ''Hon.''') and is applied to both sexes. Before her father became Earl Spencer, for example, Diana, Princess of Wales was called the Hon. Diana Spencer. When he became Earl Spencer, she became Lady Diana Spencer. : You deleted "or being the son", but you didn't delete the preceeding "either", so the sentence as you left it was confusing. I have deleted "either". As far as I know, the Rt. Hon. simply indicates membership of the Privy Council, though some peers are hereditary members of the PC (not that they ever have attended a meeting or anything.)
