It borders onto North Ayrshire, East Renfrewshire, City of Glasgow, Inverclyde and West Dunbartonshire. The 1975-96 district of Renfrew District covered a slightly larger area, and included the towns of Barrhead, Neilston and Uplawmoor, which, following the partition of Strathclyde in 1996, were transferred into the new East Renfrewshire authority. The Traditional counties of Scotland of Renfrewshire covers a much larger region, including areas today administered as Inverclyde and East Renfrewshire. Traditional Renfrewshire also includes several areas annexed to and subsequently enveloped by neighbouring Glasgow in the 1920s. Renfrewshire is retained as a Lieutenancy areas of Scotland. ==Towns and villages== *Bishopton, Renfrewshire, Bridge of Weir, Brookfield, Scotland *Craigends, Crosslee *Elderslie, Erskine *Houston, Scotland, Howwood *Inchinnan *Johnstone *Kilbarchan *Linwood, Lochwinnoch *Paisley, Scotland *Ralston, Ranfurly, Renfrew, Scotland ==Places of interest== *Braehead *Castle Semple *Erskine Bridge *Muirshiel *Paisley Abbey Renfrewshire Traditional Counties of Scotland Unitary authorities of Scotland Districts of Scotland RenfrewshireUnitary authorities of Scotland See other meanings of words starting from letter: RRA | RB | RC | RD | RE | RF | RG | RH | RI | RJ | RK | RL | RM | RN | RO | RP | RS | RT | RU | RW | RX | RY | RZ |Words begining with Renfrewshire: Renfrewshire Renfrewshire Renfrewshire_East_(UK_Parliament_constituency) Renfrewshire_East_(UK_Parliament_constituency) |
