Rad Racer''Rad Racer'' was a racing game made for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). It was licensed by Squaresoft in 1987. Since the release of the NES in 1985 to 1987 few racing games existed for the NES. ''Rad Racer'' had a simulated 3D landscape and excellent graphics. The game has a special 3D mode, where 3D glasses (packed in with game) could be worn to give the illusion of 3D. In 1990, ''Rad Racer II'' was released. It differed little from the first version, and players considered the game play inferior so it was not as successful as the first version. The first stage theme of this game has been quite surprisingly enough brought back to life through the web-cartoon Homestar Runner. Stinko Man's (anime version of the popular Strong Bad character) theme song is in fact the first stage theme from this game with "neo-Japanese language" lyrics. ==Game play== The idea of the game is to race around a course, and make it to check points before the fuel (gas) runs out. If you hit another vehicle, road sign or tree at a high speed, the car crashes. Crashes take time and make it more difficult for the player to reach the check point. There are eight different levels of requiring increasing skill. *Stage 1 - Sunset Coastline *Stage 2 - San Francisco Highway *Stage 3 - Grand Canyon *Stage 4 - Ruins of Athens, Greece *Stage 5 - Los Angeles Night Way *Stage 6 - Snow White Line (a course through the Rocky Mountains) *Stage 7 - Seaway in Typhoon (presumably in Japan) *Stage 8 - Last Seaside Running (perhaps New Jersey/New York City) ==The cars== At the car selection screen, you can pick one of two cars: a Ferrari 328 or an Formula 1. The computer-controlled cars are as follows: *Stage 1 - Volkswagen Beetle *Stage 2 - Chevrolet Corvette *Stage 3 - Citroën *Stage 4 - Mercedes-Benz *Stage 5 - Lamborghini *Stage 6 - Lotus Esprit *Stage 7 - Porsche 911 *Stage 8 - Ferrari Testarossa ==Controls== ;Up: Turbo Acceleration ;Down: Change Music ;Left/Right: Steer ;A button: Accelerate ;B button: Brake ;Start: Pause ;Select: 3D glasses mode ==Screenshots and cartridge== Rad RacerCriscih: Please do not write over my edits to the text without motivation. The intro text is still ''very'' POV, and the images should not all be at the bottom of the article like they are now. If you place a note here when you're "finished" with the article, I can take it upon myself to do some NPOV cleanup. I don't want to risk that you overwrite the work again. Even though you somewhat addressed the points I brought up on your user page, the rest of the text is still not neutral ("awesome music", for example), and the text still reads as a game tutorial / instruction booklet. In an encyclopedia, one should rarely address the reader as "you". User:Chmod007 17:42, 11 Aug 2004 (UTC) Rad RacerRad Racer

This is the second arbcom that she's been through, she once vandalised my page, she put 5 or more disruptive RFCs on various people who she disagreed with, she brough at least 3 arbcom requests as harassment, she was found to have 5 sockpuppet accounts, she posted her password to her main CheeseDreams account to a known trolls account and no longer has control of it (an admin was forced to reset it), she most likely posts under another account regularly and uses CheeseDreams to spread an anti-Christianity POV (she's said this before - she says that she edits controversial articles and makes them ''more'' controversial), see [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Katoomba_Christian_Convention&diff=10415608&oldid=10415607] for her edit of Katoomba Christian Convention where she added a comment to the main article namespace and NOT my talk page (clear harassment), she never cites her sources even though many of us have asked her to and she does not contribute with NPOV edits. User:Jnc User_talk:Jnc 17:37, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC) : I understand (and sympathize with) your concern, but a lot of admins (e.g. me) don't bother to read most RfC's, etc (too much political crap), but do keep an eye on WP:AN, and seeing the whole discussion there (and the size of it) clues us in to when an important issue has come up. Also, keeping it on WP:AN means it will be archived in a known location, as opposed to RFC's (which can wind up being deleted). Would anyone, finding my articles, be likely actually trace it back to my user page and realize "Oh, I can use this as a public domain source"? I guess it can't hurt. I wonder, why doesn't Wikipedia just release everything into the PD, instead of GFDL? My main concerns are: *I don't want someone to be able to rip off my work, change it, and then claim it's their property, and *I want it to be free for everyone to use without asking permission. User:Rad Racer 14:06, 11 Mar 2005 (UTC) :Due to the sheer numbers of people who may release into the public domain (or some other Open license), a look at the list + the article history, it is quite possible that someone could figure out if an article can be PD. The problem is that your two points above are essentially mutually exlusive. You either give everyone permission and they can do anything with it (Public Domain), or you release it under an Open license (like GFDL), but then the license is RESTRICTED to ONLY GFDL. There is no way around this, unfortunately, but it is not all bad. Of course in your case, it is unlikely that every article in Wikipedia will ever be PD, so your concerns about ripping off your work are limited. PD does have the flexibility of letting other Open license become compatible with your changes without having to ask your permission. Hope this helps. 18:10, Mar 21, 2005 (UTC) == Scott Miller == Thanks. I think those who object to adminship requests on the basis of edit summaries are being rather anally retentive. It's all rather silly. I often make large contributions to articles to which I am the sole or major contributor (by a long, long way). Any edit summary I make for these articles is solely for my own benefit - and if I don't see the value of making one, I shan't. So I often make no edit summary. Now, if an editor has a dozen messages on their talk page to make edit summaries because they're annoying other editors of the pages they frequent - then I can see why some may object to an adminship request. But if there are no such comments, then where's the problem? This one is a bit anemic volume-wise and has a stiff toll, recently increased. However, IMHO, the road would not ever have been built if it had to wait for placement on VDOT's 5 and 10 years plans, due to both the high cost and politics, and will be able to meet its debt. The high cost was due to the high level bridge over the James River. The politics are basically that it hurt the City of Richmond the most, hurt Henrico County to a lesser degree, and benefited Chesterfield County. Those 3 are the dominant factors in Richmond metro affairs. When a new exit is created for the Richmond International Airport, I think the volume will increase. Despite the high tolls, savvy commercial users will go for the time and mileage savings. Not all projects can deliver both, but this one does, even with the high toll.
