Providencia

Providencia (Spanish language "providence") is a municipality ("comuna") of Chile located on the province of Santiago, Chile in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. It is one of the municipalities in the eastern part of the city where high-income families live; being closer to the center of the city, its architecture is more high-density and highrise than that of Las Condes to its east. The homes here are penthouses rather than mansions. It also has an important commercial activity, as most of the actual corporate towers in the city are located here. There are many pedestrian areas, with cultural and recreation centers.
