Platform-independent model

A platform-independent model is a model of a software or business system that is independent of the specific technological platform used to implement it. For example HTML defines a model for hypertext that includes concepts such as title, headings, paragraphs, etc. This model is not linked to a specific operating system or web browser and is therefore being successfully implemented on a variety of different computing systems. The term ''platform-independent model'' is most frequently used in the context of model-driven architectures. == See also == * platform-specific model
