Phil Rudd

Phil Rudd played drums in the rock band AC/DC from 1974 until 1983, returning in 1994. The reasoning behind brief leaving of the band was his problems with alcohol and aggressions between Malcolm Young. They eventually got into a fight, which Phil lost. After quiting the band, he retired to New Zealand where he was checked into a rehabitilation center. The rest of the band eventually went touring there and called Phil to see if he would like to "Jam" with them. He was born in Melbourne, Australia on May 19, 1954. Phil made his name in a skinhead band, Coloured Balls. Phil currently has helped AC/DC produce such albums as Ballbreaker and Stiff Upper Lip. His style of drumming is the most equivalent to the style of the rest the band members, which makes their reasons for asking him to rejoin after his violent struggle with drugs and alcohol obvious.
