Paul Axelrod



Paul Axelrod, the creator of Axelrodian pedagogy, is a leading exponent of the theories of liberal education associated with York University’s Faculty of Education in Toronto, Ontario, the ''alma mater'' of the "Toronto School of Liberal Education." He has become notorious for such concepts as "conflictual values" in education, and "the promising of schooling," exposed in his seminal books, ''The Promising of Schooling'' (Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 1997), and ''Values in Conflict: The University, the Marketplace, and the Trials of Liberal Education'' (Montreal & Kingston: McGill-Queen's University Press, 2002).
