Paolo VeroneseVeronese is the name usually used to refer to painter Paolo Veronese; alternatively it means someone or something from Verona, Italy. Paolo Veronese (c. 1528 - April 19, 1588) was an important Italy Renaissance painter. His birth name was Paolo Cagliari or Paolo Caliari; he became known as "Veronese" from his birthplace in Verona. He spent most of his career in Venice. Veronese studied the local art in Verona in his youth, then moved briefly to Mantua in 1548 (where he created frescoes in that city's Duomo) before settling in Venice. Most of his works are in a dramatic and colorful Mannerism Venetian style. == External links == * [http://www.artcyclopedia.com/artists/veronese_paolo.html Paolo Veronese on artcylopedia.com] * [http://www.kfki.hu/~arthp/bio/v/veronese/biograph.html Veronese biography on Web Gallery of Art] with link to images of many of his paintings 1528 births 1588 deaths Italian painters See other meanings of words starting from letter: PPA | PB | PC | PD | PE | PF | PG | PH | PI | PJ | PK | PL | PM | PN | PO | PR | PS | PT | PU | PW | PX | PY | PZ |Words begining with Paolo_Veronese: Paolo_Veronese |
