==Ashvamedha== very interesting. By all means include those references (including the Ambedkar one). I would be very interested in evidence for ashvamedhas conducted in medieval times. regards, User:Dbachmann User_talk:Dbachmann 22:19, 11 Jan 2005 (UTC) == Colored Peers == It appears that the barony is still extant, which is reflected in our article (Baron Sinha). I'm not personally familiar with other cases of ''hereditary'' minority peerages or baronetcies; I know there's at least one Guyana life peer, Valerie Amos, Baroness Amos. User:Mackensen User_talk:Mackensen 23:37, 16 Jan 2005 (UTC) ==Baron Sinha== You ask about the succession to this barony. The ''Complete Peerage'' describes it this way: "When the [2nd] Lord Sinha was born there was no system of registration of births and marriages in India, and consequently he was unable, on his father's death [(in 1928)] to furnish the proofs of identity which the House of Lords requires of every peer before admitting his right of succession. In 1936 Lord Sinha presented a Petition for a Writ of Summons, which was referred to the House and heard by the Committee for Privileges on 27 June 1938. Next month the House ordered a Commission to take evidence in Calcutta, and on 25 July 1939 the Committee on Privileges decided that the Petitioner had made good his claim." Thus the 2nd Baron is deemed to have succeeded ''de jure'' in 1928 but ''de facto'' in 1939. - User:Nunh-huh 01:16, 17 Jan 2005 (UTC) == OrthodoxWiki == You can reach OrthodoxWiki here: http://www.orthodoxwiki.org/ Contributions are only possible by registered users, but accounts are free. -- 02:33, Jun 1, 2005 (UTC)

Who the fuck was Auden? "''Really those statues are not ''the fragments. You yourself are the relic; ''they haunt you with a strange virginity ''at home, at the office, at receptions for the celebrated,'' ''in the unconfessed terror of sleep;'' ''they speak of things you wish didn't exist'' ''or would happen years after your death, ''and that's difficult because..."'''' from The Thrush by George Seferis I've been using Wikipedia forever, so I figured 'Why not edit articles that I hate?' I am a part-time librarian who spends half the year studying Anthropology at the University of Pennsylvania and the rest of the year rotting, very slowly in India. I hope to someday become a process theology who lives all alone on the Isles of Aran preaching in Irish Gaelic to an indifferent audience. == Areas of interest== I've just gotten started but plan to work mostly in the following areas. 1) Vedic ritual especially the Agnistoma, Ashvamedha, Purushamedha etc 2) Indian Politics 3) Burkina Faso and African health issues 4) Critical theory and Queer studies 5) Hindu and Buddhist literature 6) Tibetan dieties 7) British politics in general and the Peerage in particular, with a focus on Lord Bishop and hereditary peers created in this century 8) Persian literature and Sufi music 9) The Anglican Church 10) Wystan Hugh Auden and 20th century English literature I've probably bitten off way more than I can chew but if you know something in any of these areas perhaps we can work together.
