Nelli KimI was tidying up the English on this page (found on a Random-Page voyage), and noticed that her forename was spelt in two ways. When I checked the two external links in order to discover the correct spelling (they didn't solve my problem, incidentally), I found that the current Wikipepedia article was lifted pretty well word for word from it; the minor omissions and alterations don't help, I think. By the way it was I that added a link which you followed and did a conclusion, that it was copyvio :-) I compiled an article using various public domain sources to replace copyvio under Nelli Kim/Temp, you are welcome to look through it. User:Cmapm 03:42, 9 Feb 2005 (UTC) ::Sorry not to have noticed what you'd done. I've just copy-edited the text (tidied the English a little), but it looks fine. User:Cmapm 18:06, 20 May 2005 (UTC) Nelli KimNelli Vladimirovna Kim (Russian language:Нелли Владимировна Ким) (b. July 29 1957) was a Soviet Union gymnast who won three gold medals and a silver medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal, and two gold medals at the Gymnastics at the 1980 Summer Olympics. She was born in Shurab, Tajik SSR. In her early childhood she entered the ''Spartak Society'' school in Chimkent, Kazakh SSR. Her trainer was the ''Honoured Trainer of the USSR'' Vladimir Baidin. After the 1976 Summer Olympics she moved to Byelorussian SSR (joining ''Armed Forces'' sports society in Minsk) and represented her new home in the Societ team at the 1980 Summer Olympics. Kim's first great international success was in 1974, when she became the World Champion in the Team Competition. Between 1974 and 1980 she won many international events, including the Summer Olympics, the World Championships, and the European Championships. After Kim's competitive career was over she worked as a coach, until in 1996 she was elected to the Women's Artistic Gymnastics Technical Committee of the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), and moved to the United States soon afterwards (where she still lives). At the FIG Congress held on October 22 2004 in Antalya, Kim was elected President of the Women's Artistic Gymnastics Technical Committee. ==Awards== ===Olympic Games=== *All Around Competition:Gymnastics at the 1976 Summer Olympics-silver *Team Competition:Gymnastics at the 1976 Summer Olympics-gold,Gymnastics at the 1980 Summer Olympics-gold *Gymnastics vault:Gymnastics at the 1976 Summer Olympics-gold *Gymnastics floor:Gymnastics at the 1976 Summer Olympics-gold,Gymnastics at the 1980 Summer Olympics-gold ===World Championships=== *All Around Competition:1978-silver, 1979-gold *Team Competition:1974-gold, 1978-gold, 1979-silver *Gymnastics vault:1978-gold, 1979-bronze *Gymnastics floor:1978-gold, 1979-silver *Gymnastics balance beam:1974-bronze, 1979-silver ===World Cup=== *All Around Competition:1979-silver *Gymnastics vault:1979-bronze *Gymnastics balance beam:1979-bronze ===European Championships=== *All Around Competition:1975-silver, 1977-bronze *Gymnastics vault:1973-bronze, 1979-gold *Gymnastics floor:1975-gold, 1977-bronze *Gymnastics balance beam:1975-silver, 1977-silver *Gymnastics uneven bars:1973-bronze ===National Championships (USSR)=== *All Around Competition:1974-bronze, 1975-gold, 1980-gold *Gymnastics vault:1974-silver, 1975-silver, 1976-gold, 1978-silver, 1979-silver *Gymnastics floor:1975-gold,1979-gold *Gymnastics balance beam:1975-gold,1976-gold *Gymnastics uneven bars:1973-gold, 1974-silver, 1975-gold, 1976-silver, 1979-silver ===USSR Cup=== *All Around Competition:1974-2nd place, 1975-2nd place, 1976-Winner ==External links== *[http://www.nelliekim.com/ Official site] *[http://www.gymn-forum.com/bios/women/kim_n.html A short biography and achievements] 1957 births Gymnasts Olympic competitors for the Soviet Union Soviet gymnasts See other meanings of words starting from letter: NNA | NB | NC | ND | NE | NF | NG | NH | NI | NJ | NK | NL | NM | NO | NP | NR | NS | NT | NU | NW | NX | NY | NZ |Words begining with Nelli_Kim: Nelli_Kim Nelli_Kim |
