Hello Matt, Wikipedia:Welcome, newcomers to Wikipedia. Here's some tips: *You can introduce yourself on the Wikipedia:new user log *If you made any edits before you got an account, you might be interested in Wikipedia:Changing attribution for an edit. *You can sign your name using three tildes, like ~~~. If you use four, you can add a datestamp too. *If you ever think a page or image should be deleted, please list it at the Wikipedia:votes for deletion page. There is also a Wikipedia:votes for undeletion page if you want to retrieve something that you think should not have been deleted. *If you have any questions, see the Wikipedia:Help, add a question to the Wikipedia:village pump or ask me on User_talk:Angela. Other useful pages are: Wikipedia:How to edit a page, Wikipedia:How to write a great article, Wikipedia:Naming conventions, Wikipedia:Manual of Style and the Wikipedia:Policies and guidelines. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedia:Wikipedians! User:Angelauser talk:Angela 19:38, Feb 21, 2004 (UTC) ---- Hi Matt, glad to have you here. You mentioned that you're into meteorology and climatology. When you get a chance, you might look at the article on climate. I put a note on its talk page a while ago about how incomplete it was, and some things I thought needed to be in the article, but I don't really have the knowledge to flesh it out myself. If you could, that'd be great. Happy editing, User:Isomorphic 21:13, 21 Feb 2004 (UTC) :Whenever you decide to tackle the project, I suggest that you start by moving most or all of the material on Koppen classification to a new article, perhaps Köppen classification or climate classification. That way you can write a balanced introduction to the subject without having to worry about how to integrate everything that's there now, and without deleting any useful content. User:Isomorphic 00:10, 22 Feb 2004 (UTC) :I am also glad to have you here!!)) Anyway nice work on Köppen and climate! When I read this I'm unsure if moved the Köppen scheme to its right place, perhaps it should rather have been Köppen climate classification. Anyway, if you think up a better title/name, it can be easily moved with the "Move this page" link in the left menu. ---User:Dittaeva 11:50, 25 Feb 2004 (UTC) ---- Ostrava Are you sure that there are some Czechoslovaks?? User:217.185.196.74 15:32, 2 Mar 2004 (UTC) :You are probably right that using "Czechoslovakians" is not the best thing to do, as it might lead to a confusion. There indeed was NO official Czechoslovakian nation (and thus no Czechoslovakians either). On the other hand, the term Czechoslovakians was used commonly before, refering to the people living inside the borders of the former Czechoslovakia or originating from it. :The article mentions Czechoslovakians while talking about WWII so the term in the sentence ''Historically, among the most influencing ethnic groups besides Czechoslovakians in Ostrava were Polish people, Germans and Jews. '' IMHO should be OK. The sence (in terms of time) of the second sentence in the same paragraph (''Thus, the population of the city, has become a mixture of Czechoslovakians and Poles.'') continues to present time, which is invalid, though. I changed the second occurence of the word to "Czechs and Slovaks" (the Slovak minority in the town is still important, which is reasonable considering that Ostrava being so close to the Slovak border). :If you or anybody else have any more objections, please feel free to incorporate them in the text. -- User:Matt Borak 17:27, 2 Mar 2004 (UTC) ---- Hi Matt. Thanks for the welcome. I'm in my second year of Czech at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, so that's my little connection to the Czech language. --User:Bkell 07:52, 12 Mar 2004 (UTC) :Thanks for the tip. --User:Bkell 20:14, 12 Mar 2004 (UTC) == Article Licensing == Hi, I've User:rambot#Free the Rambot Articles project to get users to Wikipedia:Multi-licensing all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (''CC-by-sa'') v1.0 and v2.0 Creative Commons Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The ''CC-by-sa'' license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the Wikipedia:List_of_Wikipedians_by_number_of_edits Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at ''minimum'' those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information: *User talk:Ram-Man#Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered *Wikipedia:Multi-licensing *User:rambot#Free the Rambot Articles project To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "" template into their user page, but there are other options at Wikipedia:Template messages/User namespace#Licensing Templates. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page: :Option 1 :I agree to Wikipedia:Multi-licensing all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below: : OR :Option 2 :I agree to Wikipedia:Multi-licensing all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below: : Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "" with "". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. ''Please let me know'' what you think at my User talk:Ram-Man. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- User:Ram-Man ([http://en.wikipedia.org/w/wiki.phtml?title=User_talk:Ram-Man&action=edit§ion=new comment]| User talk:Ram-Man == Unverified images == Hi. You uploaded :Image:Czech Moravia-Silesian region.png but did not list any source and/or copyright information on the image description page. Please mark it either as GFDL or public domain. See Wikipedia:Image_copyright_tags for more info. Please note that images without copyright information may be deleted in the future. Thanks. User:RedWolf 18:26, Dec 25, 2004 (UTC) == Karlstejn == Yes, you are right about source for Karlstejn. Sorry. Thanks for your REAL wiki-work. User:Mikeshk 06:09, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC) == Neni zac == And thanks for fixing the one error I forgot to patch up. Don't worry -- your English is quite good. User:Mwalcoff 07:58, 9 May 2005 (UTC) == Ostrava clubs # == I think the edit by 207.200.116.199 was vandalism because history of the guy: he happened to pick better number by chance. Thanks for actually checking this and for reference (something not seen often over here). User:Pavel Vozenilek 21:31, 18 May 2005 (UTC) == Czech dispute == It's perfectly okay to edit someone's grammar and spelling. The messages on a talkpage are for others to read. Fixing minor mistakes is a courtesy, not an insult. User:Grace Note 23:17, 18 May 2005 (UTC) Well, you probably should get over that feeling. This is a wiki, not a newsgroup and your comments are liable to be refactored. They are not posts that necessarily stand as a permanent record of what you actually wrote. They are for the interest of people who come afterward as much as for communicating on the spot. User:Grace Note 07:14, 19 May 2005 (UTC)
