Feel free to improve upon this page. ==About me== I am a college student at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, United States. My interests include computer science, in which I plan to major, mathematics, in which I am considering double-majoring, video games, and Star Trek. I used to be into Dance Dance Revolution, but I've grown tired of it. I have created various and numerous programs, mostly for personal use. ===Civ89=== I made ''[http://www.geocities.com/civ89game/index.html Civ89]'', an open-source video game for the TI-89 / TI-92 / Voyage 200 graphing calculators that is based on ''Civilization II'', along with an accompanying map / scenario / game editor. Compared to ''Civilization II'', it is significantly watered down, but in many ways improved (in my opinion). There is more emphasis on the military aspects of the game. The combat system is different; attacking an enemy unit simply applies a certain amount of damage to that unit rather than destroying either the attacker or defender. Pretty fun, but unfortunately, it has no artificial intelligence. ===Future projects=== These are programming projects that I hope to (but very well may not) complete. * Artificial intelligence for Civ89. There are some details on [http://www.geocities.com/civ89game/index.html the Civ89 website]. * A detailed, highly customizable Star Trek-like sim game. ==About my Wikipediaing== I very much appreciate Wikipedia, almost as much as I do Google. It is very useful and informative. I have learned much. I discovered Wikipedia through Google. Summer 2004, when I decided to look up and learn a bunch of random stuff, Google constantly directed me to Wikipedia articles. I was rarely disappointed. I quickly came to realize that Wikipedia was an excellent starting point for almost any kind of information. I have done a lot of editing in video game. I performed many edits before assuming my Wikipedia identity. Many of them are under the IP address 18.*.*.*. The 18 indicates that Massachusetts Institute of Technology is my Internet service provider. Officially, I've been a member since December 5, 2004. ===Articles I have created=== *Analog stick *Crash Bandicoot (video game) *Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back *Crash Bandicoot: Warped *Crash Bash *Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure *Dragon Dice *Pandemonium (video game) *Sonic R ===Articles I have practically created=== These are articles that I improved from stub or stub-like condition to a full article. *Akra-Bazzi method ===Decent stubs I have created=== *Crash Team Racing *Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble ===Articles I have seriously improved=== These are articles that I have seriously improved, including original writing, or have seriously cleaned up. *Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (Mega Drive) ===Landmark edits=== *[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Free_as_in_beer&diff=prev&oldid=9208413 Edit number 1000] *[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Dragon_Dice&diff=prev&oldid=8686876 Edit number 100] *[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Internet_Explorer&diff=prev&oldid=8407712 Edit number 10] *[http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:MIT_Trekkie&diff=prev&oldid=8166169 Edit number 1] ==I hope you have a nice day== \ell = \hbar \oint (\rho e^{\varphi \vec \nabla \cdot \vec u} \vec h \tilde{a} \sqrt{e^{a}} \cdot \aleph \hat i \zeta \varepsilon ) dA \hat y bettter than |33+! Hi MIT Trekkie, Andre">User:Andrevan (User_talk:Andrevan)A 20:38, Dec 14, 2004 (UTC) ==Requests for comment for user Beachy== Hi Trekkie, I'd would to put User:Beachy on Wikipedia:Requests for comment because he has not improved over months. Some of the problems: *Starts and continues edit wars *Impolite to other users *Personal attacks *Personal biases (e.g. Spread Firefox (SFX) is zealous) *Addition of factually incorrect information *Addition of speculation that flavor him (his pro-IE view) *Never admit that he is biased You can see Talk:Internet Explorer and Talk:Mozilla Firefox (and the articles' history) for the various responses made by Beachy, which shows some of the points above. The RFC page said that both you and me have to write the user subpage for things like documenting our individual efforts on stopping the violations made by Beachy. That's why I'm asking for your help. Please answer by replying here or at my user page. Thanks. :-) --User:Minghong 18:44, 22 May 2005 (UTC) I would be fine with that. So do you just want me to describe my efforts to stop his perceived violations of Wikipedia policy, or would you like me to help to describe the perceived violations themselves? I would like more details on how exactly this should work. -- User:MIT Trekkie 19:10, May 22, 2005 (UTC) I don't really know how this thing works really. :-P But I think Wikipedia:Requests for comment#Comment about individual users would be helpful. You can take a look of examples like Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Zivinbudas too. Call me if you need help. I got to sleep now. :-o --User:Minghong 19:25, 22 May 2005 (UTC) Actually, I think it may be prudent to wait a while before posting a request for comment. As Wikipedia:Requests for comment#Comment about individual users states, "Once the request for comment is open, these two people must document their individual efforts, ''provide evidence that those efforts have failed to produce change'', and sign the comment page." As your post on User talk:Beachy took place earlier today (according to my time zone), this may prove difficult. Perhaps we should wait to see whether User:Beachy continues his current behavior (which seems likely), in order that such evidence would be available. I find it unlikely that people will entertain repeated requests for comment about the same user, so if we are to do so, we must endeavor to get it right the first time. What do you think? -- User:MIT Trekkie 20:13, May 22, 2005 (UTC) OK. Let's wait for a week or more to see if he would change his behavior. --User:Minghong 07:28, 23 May 2005 (UTC) Alright. I think I'll try to work together some kind of argument regarding alleged past abuses in the meantime. -- User:MIT Trekkie 13:06, May 23, 2005 (UTC) I have a rough draft of a proposed RFC at User talk:MIT Trekkie/BeachyRFC. minghong, please take a look and let me know what you think. -- User:MIT Trekkie 03:22, May 28, 2005 (UTC)
