Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Morgan Lohan (born July 2, 1986) is an United States actor and singer of Italian and Irish heritage. Lohan was born in New York City and raised in Cold Spring Harbor, New York. By 2004, her primary home was in Beverly Hills, California. ==Television== Lindsay Lohan began her career as a model (person) for the Ford Academy at the age of three and has appeared in more than sixty television commercials. As a child actor, she was a regular on soap operas such as ''Guiding Light'' and ''As The World Turns'', then spent several months as "Allison ('Alli') Fowler" on ''Another World (TV series)'', only to give up the show for her first film role. Lohan also appeared on ''Healthy Kids'', a children's health show, along with Dina Lohan, her mother and business manager. As a teen, Lohan starred in two Disney Channel original movies, ''Life-Size (movie)'' and ''Get a Clue''. She also played Bette Midler's daughter in the first episode of the short-lived series ''Bette'' before bowing out when the production moved from her native New York to Los Angeles, California. In 2003, Lohan was Punk'd by Ashton Kutcher. Kutcher played a practical joke on Lohan, making her believe a vehicle had been stolen. (It was later revealed that the frustrated "limousine driving" who missed the birth of his child was really an actor.) On November 8, 2004, Lindsay made a much-publicized cameo appearance on ''That '70s Show'' in an episode entitled [http://www.usatoday.com/life/people/2004-11-08-lohan-70s-show_x.htm ''Mother's Little Helper'']. Lohan played "Danielle" opposite Kutcher ("Kelso") and then-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama ("Fez"). Lindsay has hosted ''Saturday Night Live'' twice. ==Film== Lohan debuted on the big screen in 1998 in film, reprising Hayley Mills' role in The Walt Disney Company's remake of the 1961 in film movie ''The Parent Trap''. Lohan, as had Mills, acting twin sisters who conspire to reunite their estranged parents. The film, co-starring Dennis Quaid and Natasha Richardson, introduced Lohan to a wider audience. Her next feature film, a remake (Disney's second remake involving Lohan) of the 1976 in film classic ''Freaky Friday'', would come five years later in the summer of 2003 in film. She received supporting actor, playing "Anna Coleman", daughter of "Tess Coleman", played by Jamie Lee Curtis. In 2004 in film, Lohan was given the leading actor in two films, Disney's ''Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen'' and Paramount's ''Mean Girls''. Lohan's latest movie is ''Herbie: Fully Loaded'', the fifth film in the ''Herbie'' series (the last installment was ''Herbie Goes Bananas'' (1980 in film)). Lohan stars alongside actors Matt Dillon and Breckin Meyer. For the Walt Disney film, it was reported that Lohan's breast had to be "digitally reduced" so that family audiences would not be offended. The film's director, Angela Robinson, and Lohan both [http://www.suntimes.com/output/movies/cst-ftr-lohan09.html strongly deny the rumor]. ==Music== Lohan is currently pursuing a pop music career concurrent with her career in films, and performed the song ''Ultimate'' (written by Jeff Coplan and Robert Ellis Orrall) in ''Freaky Friday''. In 2002 in music, she signed a five-album production deal with Emilio Estefan, one of the most respected producer in the music industry. In 2004 in music, Lohan signed a recording contract with Casablanca Records. Her album, ''Speak (album)'', was issued on December 7, 2004, and reached #4 on the Billboard magazine Top 200 Album chart. The first single off the album was ''Rumors'', followed by ''Over'', then ''First''. ==In the media spotlight== According to news reports, there is some animosity between Lohan and Hilary Duff, both having previously dated singer Aaron Carter. At the ''Cheaper by the Dozen (2003)'' movie (in which Duff co-starred) premiere party, Duff and her mother allegedly tried to have Lohan thrown out (to no avail). Lohan dated actor Wilmer Valderrama in 2004 and their breakup made tabloid headlines. The tabloids targeted Lohan again in 2005 when she exhibited some dramatic weight loss, speculating that an eating disorder or drug may be involved. She told People (magazine) Magazine, "I got a trainer ... Just old-school working out." Lohan says there is pressure to stay thin in Hollywood, California, "(e)specially when you lose a lot of weight and then people are telling you, 'You look great!' You (ask), 'So... did I look fat before?'" ==Personal== Lindsay's family name was originally pronounced LOW-han but, by 2005, the actress and her mother seemed to settle on LOW-en, suggesting a return to its Europe roots. Shortly after an apparent digital photography of her California driver's license was released on the Internet (after her card case was misplaced or stolen from a New York nightclub in 2004), Lindsay was asked her middle name by an audience member on the cable television show [http://www.nick.com/all_nick/specials/teenick/ TEENick]. She answered that it was originally (and, apparently, still is legally) Dee, but she later changed it to Morgan. Lohan is involved in charity projects such as The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Foundation, Save the Children, The United Cerebral Palsy Association, and her own charity organization, Dream Come True. Lindsay Lohan has three younger siblings, Michael, Aliana ("Ali") and Dakota ("Cody"). Aliana Lohan is an aspiring model and actor. ==Lindsay's father== Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, has had multiple problems with the criminal law. In [http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/wireStory?id=798625&CMP=OTC-RSSFeeds0312 May of 2005], he was ordered to serve 1½ to 4 years in prison after pleading guilty to several charges, including aggravated license driving, attempted assault, and failure to pay a hotel Bill (payment). Lohan begged for long-term alcohol rehabilitation, but was denied. He admitted to a drinking problem, saying he was being kept away from his children, but failed to address the reasons for the estrangement. Lindsay's management has publicly suggested that she distance herself from her father because of his legal problems. ==Car accident== On June 1, 2005, Lohan suffered minor injures in a car accident involving a paparazzi who was following her for a photograph. == Filmography == *''Fashionistas'' (2006 in film, in development hell) (also executive producer) *''A_Prairie_Home_Companion#Film_version'' (2006, in pre-production) *''Just My Luck'' (2005 in film, in post-production) *''Herbie: Fully Loaded'' (2005) *''Mean Girls'' (2004 in film) *''Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen'' (2004) *''Freaky Friday'' (2003 in film) *''The Parent Trap'' (1998 in film) ==TV work== *''That '70s Show'' (2004 in television) (episode: ''Mother's Little Helper'') *''Get a Clue'' (2002 in television) *''Bette'' (2000 in television-2001 in television) (appeared in pilot only—credited, but did not appear, in episode two) *''Life-Size'' (2000) *''Another World'' (cast member from 1996 in television-1997 in television) ==Discography== ===Albums=== *2004: ''Speak (album)'' - #4 US (Gold album) ===Singles=== *''First'' (2005 in music) *''Over'' (2005) *''Rumors'' (2004 in music) *''Drama Queen (That Girl)'' (2004) == Books == * ''Lindsay Lohan: A Star on the Rise'' by Mary Boone (ISBN 1572436891) == External links == * [http://www.llrocks.com/ Official website] * ===Fan sites=== * [http://www.lindsayfans.com/ Lindsay Lohan Official FanSite] * [http://www.lindsaymedia.net/ LindsayMedia.NET - Lindsay Lohan Media Site] * [http://www.lindsaylife.com/ Lindsay Lohan] News, Articles, Pictures of the famous actress * [http://www.lindsay-lohan.org/ Lindsay-Lohan.Org] * [http://www.lohanonline.com/ LOHANonline.com] * [http://www.locationlohan.com/ Location Lohan - Lindsay Lohan Fan Forum] * [http://www.lindzmag.net/ LindzMag.Net - Lindsay Lohan Online Fanzine] 1986 births Cinema actors Soap opera actors Television actors American actors Child actors American singers American pop singers People from New York

==Cleanup== This article is very informative, and the author(s) has/have done well but the layout and quality is poor. Therefore I have given the article 'Needing cleanup' status. Now at a glance the article looks fine, but when you read closely you will see where I'm coming from. In the intermittent period, Lohan starred in two Disney Channel Original Movies: Life Size and Get a Clue. or
:In the intermittent period, Lohan starred in two Disney Channel original movies; ''Life Size'' and ''Get a Clue'' ''Get A Clue''. I have added links, got rid of unnecessary capitals and italicised movie titles. As of 2004, she is considered by many to be a teen idol. Its 2005 now! Plus, she was never a teen idol. She isn't even that famous. In December of 2004, Lohan released her debut album Speak. She had previously flirted with the music industry by recording some singles for her starring role in Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Freaky Friday. This information was previously stated before. Its the same info dressed differently. I will edit these myself if no-one else agrees, I just wanted to let you know what my reasons were. User:Speedway, 19:50 (GMT) 10 Feb 2005 :I'd say go ahead and make your clean ups, most seem reasonable though what you quote "she is considered by many to be a teen idol" is POV as is what you say "She isn't even that famous". User:Zen-master User talk:Zen-master 19:53, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC) ::Fair enough, I'll go ahead. User:Speedway 20:43 (GMT) 11 Feb 2005 :::A cursory glance at the graduating to movie section seems like there are too many wiki links there. Why mention that Mean Girls was developer by Paramount and wikilink Mean Girls? The point of wiki linking is "for more information" so, instead, users can click on the Mean Girls link to learn who developed the movie, it is redundant to both wiki link and add in extraneous info that can be found via the wiki link in my opinion. Also, there are a fair number of red wiki links in this article. Also, the graduating to movies section title can be improved, do you agree? User:Zen-master User talk:Zen-master 21:03, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC) :::Also, celebrity's parents names are not generally wiki linked presumably because they aren't notable enough, right? Does "Summer 2003" really need to be wiki linked here? I am borderline about whether it is necessary to mention that Lindsay reprised "Haley Mills" role from the original Parent Trap, that sort of information can/should be found by clicking on the Parent Trap link, unless Hayley noted Lindsay's performance or the connection is otherwise noteworthy which in this case I assume it's not, it's redundant to put information that can be found by the following wiki link in an article in my opinion. Also, my personal preference is not to wiki link random dates not directly related to an article, but perhaps that is just me. User:Zen-master User talk:Zen-master 21:14, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC) ::::Yep, I agree. I'm not one to suggest section titles - you probably know better than me. User:Speedway 21:49 (GMT), 11 Feb 05 ==Picture== Is that picture liscensed, etc? All that's noted is that it's a publicity still... User:Rhymeless 04:33, 15 Aug 2004 (UTC) :Well, seeing that it's a publicity still, I assume it's free use (or at least fair use). Those are made so that media organizations can have something in their stories. I think it's more than fine. User:Cookiecaper 05:09, 15 Aug 2004 (UTC) == Style and news == Hi. I was reading this article and a couple of passages caught my eye: # I found the part about the roommate deal not really well-written (sorry). It sounds like: they are living together but they don't live together. Either they do or they don't, or maybe the whole thing is just a façade, but the text really doesn't state anything. # Statements such as "(...) is currently dating (...)" are more on the side of a news page, not an encyclopedia. When I read "currently", I have to check the page history to know when this was written, so I can know when "currently" actually takes place, not to mention the fact that once the situation changes, it's no longer current, which makes the article wrong. I hope this is of some use. Regards, User:Redux 12:31, 19 Oct 2004 (UTC) == breast implants widely reported, really? == I don't believe it was widely reported lindsay allegedly got breast implants, please cite (enough mainstream citations to be consided "widely" plz). I also don't think breast implant info is appropriate in the article, how many celebs have breast implants, does wikipedia flag each one? It's certainly not appropriate in the introduction, and the link to the "visual aid" website is most egregious. I'll remove that section myself unless I hear counter arguments. User:Zen-master 19:11, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC) :I don't know, but I hear it all the time, and I'm pretty sure she's denied it herself, which she wouldn't do unless it was widely reported. And, I mean, just look at her. Sure it's important. The people want to know. User:Everyking 20:59, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC) ::Fanboi message boards do not count as "widely reported". :-) Since she has officially denied it I don't think it's appropriate for wikipedia, it's also borderline sexist the way it's currently presented. How many other movie star bio pages have claims of fake breasts? So "encyclopedic" has degenerated into "the people want to know"? Such gossip has no place on wikipedia, I think we should put removing the mention of possible fake breasts up for a vote. User:Zen-master 21:10, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC) All significant, publicly available information about notable people has a place, and certainly that includes the implant claim. I'm sorry if you don't like that the implant claim is notable, but it unquestionably is. User:Everyking 21:52, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC) :Notable does not negate sexist nomenclature. Please cite a mainstream/non-message board website that claims lindsay lohan's brests are fake? At this point it's at best a rumor, not public information. Do you agree "widely reported" is inaccurate at least? User:Zen-master 22:06, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC) ::Not really, I've heard it joked about on television before. I think a great many people who are familiar with Lindsay know about the implant claim. I don't see how it's sexist nomenclature, it's just saying she may have had implants. A simple statement. We could have a poll, but I don't know if we'd get enough votes to be worth anything. If it really matters to you, you could list it on RfC and that might attract enough votes. User:Everyking 22:19, 4 Dec 2004 (UTC) :::The current statement is fine. It says what you want to say, yet remains ambiguous to the reality (or non-reality) of it.--User:Txredcoat 22:03, 14 Dec 2004 (UTC) ==Album reviews== Everyking, are you sure it has nothing to do with your Ashlee Simpson bias? -- User:Chuq 22:30, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC) :What bias? It has to do with the fact that calling other artists' lyrics cheesy is not acceptable. If it's cited, fine, but the way it's stated makes this questionable, and in the actual review it doesn't seem to say anything negative about those artists. But anyway, another user has gone and removed the whole review, so don't look at me. User:Everyking 22:40, 8 Dec 2004 (UTC) == Fake with a Capitol Records F == Lindsay Lohan has fake breasts. == breast implant rumors are uncited and don't belong anyway == Everyking, please cite from a reputable source the allegations for the breast implant rumors. If the allegations came from a plastic surgeon then I'd agree they would meet the threashold for inclusion in a wikipedia article. I also think that is a double standard, how many celebrity biographical articles on wikipedia include breast implant rumors? In my opinion breast implant rumors are not notable for a *biographical* article; a biographical article is not a fanboi message board. I will definitely remove that paragraph again if you do not cite where those rumors came from and clean up the writting stlye. Though, I may revert it anyway and/or I will take this issue up on RFC or irc or find others to comment here. :You know, I didn't add it to begin with. I don't understand your reasoning. I've heard about the implants on many occasions, and I'm certainly no "fanboi". It's an occasional topic in American popular culture. Therefore it's notable. I'd like to see some other opinions on the matter, though. User:Everyking 00:37, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC) ::*To have any chance at inclusion you need to cite your source(s). ::*You would also need to rewrite the article in NPOV style (use the word allegedly). The way that paragraph is written is from the point of view of a fanboi or anti fanboi (or perhaps a breast implants fanboi). ::*You will also need to justify, using a logical argument here on the talk page, why a *biographical* article should include breast implant rumors. American popular culture does not automatically mean *biographical* article inclusion. ::User:Zen-master User talk:Zen-master 00:48, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC) :::You are being unreasonable because you ''know'' the rumors are widespread and therefore it's disingenuous to demand sources for verification. Yes, we should have sources. But that doesn't mean we need to delete it in the meantime. Many, many Wikipedia articles have no sources at all. You going to go blank them all, or VfD them? My logical argument is that A) lots of people (pretty much any American with any awareness of contemporary pop culture) have heard the rumors, they've been talked about on TV, etc., B) widespread recognition equals fame, C) fame equals notability. It makes no sense to have an article about Lindsay but omit one of the things she's best known for. User:Everyking 01:00, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC) ::::Everything needs a cited source so it can be counter balanced with precision. If other articles have similar problems we should clean them up also. I support Adam Bishop's clean up of the paragraph you added. In 75 years when Lindsay Lohan is dead and gone what will the relevance of modern day breast implant rumors for a general *biographical* article be? User:Zen-master User talk:Zen-master 01:07, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC) :::::I don't like Adam's removal of info, but in the absence of a cite I'll live with it. And for the last time, quit saying ''I'' added it—I did not, I merely cleaned it up a bit, and if I had added it there would be cites, since I'm a stickler for references. As for the future thing, I imagine anybody interested in knowing about her then is as likely to want to know about the implants as they are about her album or acting roles—perhaps moreso? User:Everyking 01:18, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC) If you really want to keep this, I'll see if I can find some newspaper sources tomorrow, this seems like the sort of trashy news the entertainment sections would write about (I won't be able to give a link, but it will be a source at least). I know they also made reference to it on SNL when she was on. [http://www.liquidgeneration.com/blog/2004/05/lindsay-lohans-breast-implants-lindsay.html And here's a fun link for everyone!]. But seriously, how do you know her breast size before and after? That's crazy. User:Adam Bishop 03:43, 18 Feb 2005 (UTC) :A brief search finds "LOHAN LIVING LARGE AS TEEN QUEEN" by Donna Freydkin of Gannett News Service: "But the fame has brought added scrutiny, which lands her in the tabloids on a weekly basis. The stories about her abound: Her father makes news with another legal scuffle! She has implants! Her partying is out of control!" and "As for the plastic surgery chit-chat: "The fake-boob thing was kind of silly. They're so real. Lindsay's so afraid of doctors -- a needle freaks her out," says Dina [her mother and manager]." So it has been in actual printed news... User:Adam Bishop 08:12, 20 Feb 2005 (UTC) *Ah, some gossip and denials of gossip have been in some actual printed insubstantial published fluff. Does this make the topic encyclopedic to WP standards? Clearly there are some fans who find this subjectively "notable", and who seem well-qualified to flesh out (oops, didn't mean to make that pun) some fansite's article about this young and not-yet-proven-exceptional actress. But, unless there's a weeks-long trial that alters the reporting of national news, or a scandal that makes a government fall, I don't accept that there is anything about breast-implant rumors (true or false, verifiable or otherwise) that belongs in WP. User:Barno 20:58, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC) **What the..? Lindsay hasn't altered reporting of national news or brought down any governments yet, so I guess she shouldn't have an article, then? User:Everyking 22:54, 28 Feb 2005 (UTC) == Number of external links == Does anyone else think the number of external links are getting excessive? obviously the 'official' site and fan sites are important, as is perhaps the imdb filmography. But there are probably millions of Lindsay Lohan sites on the web - i don't think we should be including lots of fansites, the official one will probably just do the trick. User:Tkessler 19:23, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC) :This tends to happen with articles like this: people come along hoping to promote their own favorite fan site. My opinion is that you keep it trimmed back to the official site and maybe two of the most popular fan sites. User:Everyking 02:10, 15 Mar 2005 (UTC) == Gay Icon Project == In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. Thank you very much. User:Philwelch 21:09, 24 Mar 2005 (UTC) == Lindsay Lohan: Judy Garland of the 21st Century == Is Lindsay Lohan the next Judy Garland? Compare Judy Garland, Sandra Dee and Drew Barrymore :apples vs carrots. User:Zen-master User talk:Zen-master 00:56, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC) :Frankly I thought Lohan aspired to be the next Hayley Mills. --User:Freakofnurture 09:37, Jun 8, 2005 (UTC) == Is weight loss truly notable? == I'm just wondering. The gossip of the day for a celebrity is not necessarily notable enough for inclusion in an encylopedia, in my opinion. It's also presented as gossipy using third parties "noting" it, the article should state, with a citation, that Lindsay has confirmed losing like 10-20 pounds in the spring of 2005 (since I believe she has confirmed that?). But if she puts back on some weight should we then remove any mention of the weight loss? Either way, where does it end? If she lost or gained weight for a movie roll then that would be notable, but initial rumors of an eating disorder are not notable, if it goes on for a few weeks then maybe inclusion is ok (all in my opinion). User:Zen-master User talk:Zen-master 22:15, 24 May 2005 (UTC) :I was reading in People mag recently about it (I think it was in People), so I think that makes it notable. Not to mention all the talk about it outside of publications, on the internet and such. Probably it has also been mentioned on some TV show as well. User:Everyking 04:14, 30 May 2005 (UTC) ::We have a section on recent weight loss as well, this time with rumours of cocaine use. Can someone provide some citation on this one from a location that isn't purely a rumour or trash magazine? If so, I'm happy to have it stay, but we are teetering on the edge of libel and pushing away from encyclopedic information. --User:Yamla 15:04, 2005 Jun 18 (UTC) ---- I know good and well "Rumors" did not get to #4 and "Over" to #3 on the Hot 100. I don't know what chart those numbers are from. They should be indicated, if they are even real. The songs did not do particularly well; I'm not even sure Over made it onto the Hot 100 at all. User:Everyking 04:14, 30 May 2005 (UTC) ---- I think it is, and that a recent picture would illustrate for everyone who thinks it's not. Nothing too large or speculative, but with celebrity articles I think the notability criteria trumps the encyclopedic criteria. --User:Mister Tattle 23:35, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC) == I think lip syncing allegations are relevant == They should be cited though. For comparison, the Ashley Simpson article has an entire section devoted to lip syncing. The music industry seems to be increasingly desperate.
