Las KetchupLas Ketchup is a 3-girl group consisting of Lola, Pilar, and Lucía Muñoz from Córdoba in Andalucia, Spain. In the summer of 2002 they had a major flamenco Europop fusion hit with ''Aserejé'' (released as ''The Ketchup Song'' in the United Kingdom and other countries), which reached or almost reached the top of the top 40 in many countries including Spain, the UK, Italy, France, Finland, Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Germany, Argentina, Mexico and the United States commonwealth of Puerto Rico. The title and part of the lyrics were gibberish. The hit also had an accompanying dance. The sound of the lyrics in the chorus resembled the first few lines of the song ''Rapper's Delight'' by the Sugarhill Gang. The name of the group is a reference to their father Juan Muñoz, a well known flamenco guitarist known as ''El Tomate'' (The Tomato). This also explains why their debut album carried the title ''Las hijas del tomate'' (Tomato's daughters). Winners of the reality show Popstar in Brazil, Rouge, released their own version of the song 'Ragatanga', a duo with Las Ketchups translating the lyrcis from spanish to portuguese. The song, the 2nd single of the pop group, was a big hit and went to number 1 in charts. The dance became popular with tweens and teens in Brazil and the song was one of the main reason the 1st album of the group sold 1 million copies (Diamond Disc in Brazil). ==See also== *Ketchup *Son de Sol ==External links== *[http://www.columbiarecords.com/lasketchup/media/LasKetchupSongVidFull.ram Columbia Records Asereje video (.ram)] Popular music artists See other meanings of words starting from letter: LLA | LB | LC | LD | LE | LF | LG | LH | LI | LJ | LK | LM | LN | LO | LP | LR | LS | LT | LU | LW | LX | LY | LZ |Words begining with Las_Ketchup: Las_Ketchup |
