
== Kougaiji == Kougaiji is a character in the manga and anime [[Saiyuki]. He is a youkai prince who lives in Houtou Castle together with his father Gyumaoh and mother Ratsetsunyo, He is one of the strong willed youkai who has the ‘heart of gold’, excels in martial arts, able to emit fire projectiles, knowledgeable in youkais including youkai summoning spells such as his famous Fire Ogre. In Saiyuki, Kougaiji is the enemy of Sanzo-Ikkou (Genjyo Sanzo's party) as he is forced to works for his stepmother Gyokumen Koushou (whom he detest) to retrieved the 5 Heavenly Sutras including the mantra sutra from Genzo Sanjo. This is so that he can obtained a reward from GK who promised to revived her mother, Ratsetsunyo who has been placed under a curse which turned her into stone in Hutou Castle. His strong devotion to his mother and kind nature earns him loyalty from his youkai followers and his companion who are willing to served him in his task. This include his half sister Lirin, who he care as much as his own blood, his personal bodyguard and fighter,Dokugaukuji, who is more like an older brother to him, and his personal alchemist called Yaone, whom he saved from the clutches of the woman-eating Hyakuganmaoh. Thou Kougaiji and his companion are tasked to obtain the sutras from Sanzo-Ikkou, their good nature during their encounters lead them to abandon this intention and work side by side with Sanzo-Ikkou in defeating other youkais. In ''Gensomaden Saiyuki'' , they have worked side by side to defeat a gigantic demon crab that was sent by Chi-I-su, a Human general turned centipede youkai, and a rebelion God named Homura In ''Saiyuki-Reload'', they were force to work together to face off an insect demon, a Banshee Youkai and her undead villagers. However in ''Saiyuki-reload'', he took the decision to face Sanzo-Ikkou alone to obtained the sutras. He almost defeated them with the help of Demon bracelet given to him by Dr Ni Jianyi, until Goku managed to break it with his nyoi-bou , He suffered heavy internal injury due to the side effect of the Demon bracelet. Dokugaukuji managed to arrived on time to saved him from the battle. However Kougaiji heavy injuries have forced Dokugaukuji to surrender him to Dr Ni for Bioengineering treatment. The treatment not just have heal and enhanced him but and also believed to have brainwashed Kougaiji so that he will obeyed Gyokumen Koushou orders diligently.
