---- ==James Bond== ===GoldenEye 007 (the game)=== Sorry about that editing of the description for the Egyptian mission - I don't have the game with me at the moment and I haven't read the mission briefing for a looong time... Sorry about all that excessive linking too! :) Also, good work expanding the storyline description, but do you think it's ''too'' detailed? Would it work better if it was like the "Chapters" section of the ''Half-Life 2'' page, with the mission titles and then a brief description under each? Finally, in one of my edits I requested someone check exactly which mission is the first to take place after the end of the Cold War; as I don't have access to the game at the moment, could you do that? --User:Nick R 20:17, 4 Jun 2005 (UTC) ===The SilverFin high school boy, or, My Brain Hurts=== My head hurts just trying to make sense of that last anon. edit to SilverFin. Do you have any idea what that was supposed to say? Looked like it was written by Babelfish. User:23skidoo 20:56, 5 Jun 2005 (UTC) ===Bond allies edits=== No worries. It was just an on-the-fly edit for my part, anyway. It just occurred to me the discussion about the secretaries didn't really fit in with Dr. No but I wasn't too sure where to put it. Tanner was just a spur-of-the-moment thing, too. User:23skidoo 03:08, 6 Jun 2005 (UTC) ===SilverFin, Col. Sun, and Leiter=== I vaguely recall something about Leiter providing the money for Bond, but I haven't read CR in about 5 years so I'd have to check it again. Haven't gotten around to reading SilverFin yet. It's on my to-read list but I have a few other books ahead of it though I wasn't too impressed with the first couple of pages intially. As far as Col. Sun goes ... well maybe you can try it again later. I found it a worthwhile read and it inspired me to start reading the other Bonds for what it's worth. I agree that the book was definitely a 1960s story and probably hasn't aged as well, but there are some elements such as the terrorists that are still fairly current.User:23skidoo 20:28, 7 Jun 2005 (UTC) ===Marriage=== Bond marries a second time in Scorpius (albeit under duress). There are also a couple of occasions in the Gardner books where he seriously considers popping the question, too. In terms of GoldenEye it's been a long time since I saw the film, but the reference occurs in a dialogue scene either with Xenia or Natalya. I'll have to watch the movie again to be more specific. User:23skidoo 18:25, 9 Jun 2005 (UTC) ===00s=== I'm reading the Titan Books reprint of the Dr. No comic strip and the intro to the book contained a version of the 00 agents list we have in the Allies article. I added in the ones we didn't have (which includes agents referenced by Benson -- interestingly Gardner seems not to have added any to the canon -- as well the the comic strips). I also added an introduction that might duplicate comments from elsewhere but I thought it was good to put the list into context. User:23skidoo 04:00, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC) : All the Titan books have interesting articles on the novels and the comic strips, as well as a complete checklist of the comic strips (which was my source for the dates etc. for the adaptations). At the moment they've mostly been reprinting the Ian Fleming-based strips, but I hear an upcoming volume is going to include one of the post-Fleming strips and possibly Colonel Sun as well. I haven't heard of the book you mentioned by commanderbond.net mentioned something about a book on the Fleming Bonds coming out. I'm planning to start reading Never Send Flowers as soon as I get my current book finished. User:23skidoo 06:13, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC) ===Comic strips=== Excellent work starting the comic strips article. I added a couple small things but otherwise this is a very solid foundation. I can see this being expanded to include later comic books and graphic novels as well. User:23skidoo 22:33, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC) : I don't think the comic strips article is too complex that we can't add one more section for the comic books/graphic novels. There really aren't that many. BTW I plan to add the publishing information for the James Bond Fan Club reprint volumes (I believe there was two) but I need to track down the information again -- IIRC it came from bondian.com. User:23skidoo 22:56, 14 Jun 2005 (UTC) ===Revisions=== I don't know, it just looked like you did a bit of overhauling on the main Bond article just now. ;-) User:23skidoo 04:42, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC) : Ah, so that's why the changes looked good! I hadn't been paying too much attention to the main article so I must have missed the bad edits. User:23skidoo 05:10, 19 Jun 2005 (UTC) : I went through the first few sections and made revisions that hopefully are the best of both worlds, plus I added a response to the fellow in the Talk page. User:23skidoo 21:38, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC) :: Looks like he didn't take too kindly to having his stuff edited. Oh well. User:23skidoo 22:06, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC) ===Spy Who Loved Me=== I take it from your revisions to the SWLM article that you must have finished the Wood novel. Thoughts? I thought it was an OK pastiche and Wood took a reasonable stab at Fleming's style, though it's interesting to see the differences between this book and the film. Since Wood wrote the screenplay, too, I must assume the book was either based on an earlier draft OR the book was altered so that Wood ended up with full credit instead of sharing it with his co-scriptwriter(s) on the film. Did you catch Jaws' real name? Also, I can't remember if Jaws actually survives the book, which would place it in conflict with Wood's Moonraker. User:23skidoo 23:55, 20 Jun 2005 (UTC) : I doubt you'll have to change too much as you have the points down. I see that fellow won't let the matter drop. I put another response in there, defending your honor as it were, though I probably spoke out of turn. User:23skidoo 02:27, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC) ==Thanks== Thank you for your comments at the Half-Life 2 talk page. I appreciate it very much and I will see what I can do. User:Thunderbrand 15:51, Jun 4, 2005 (UTC) ==SF planets== Yeah, I totally agree with you. Merging them all into one article will make it easier to keep track of them all. Also, I noticed that someone created a Lylat system page almost a month ago. The person didn't put any categories in it so I never knew about its existence. Seeing how most of the info there is redundant, should it be merged as well into a List of Star Fox planets article? User:Thunderbrand 19:55, Jun 7, 2005 (UTC) I think #3 sounds the best. Although most of the planets are in the Lylat system, Cerinia is the oddball. Could have the article mention that "The Lylat system is the name of the solar system blah blah" and make the rest of the page look like the List of Star Wars planets. User:Thunderbrand 20:11, Jun 7, 2005 (UTC) ==In case you're not still following this thread== I'm a little late to the party. Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Computer_and_video_games#Era_Standardization_-_Take_2 ==Vote for deletion alert== I see from the page history for Cut Ending to Knights of the Old Republic II that you once edited it. I thought you would like to know that there is a VfD on that page now at [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Votes_for_deletion/Cut_Ending_to_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic_II http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Votes_for_deletion/Cut_Ending_to_Knights_of_the_Old_Republic_II]. Please stop in there and comment on this vote! --User:Marudubshinki 15:53, 11 Jun 2005 (UTC) ==Finland/Scandinavia in Max Payne== Just a thought -- I noticed that you reverted the Max Payne bit that talked about Finland not being counted as a part of Scandinavia, and commented that sometimes it is. You're of course correct, but I believe that the point the author was trying to make is... well, I made it in more detail. Does that make sense to you? Please let me know if it reads like crap -- I'd rather not go into an in-depth explanation on this article, but I do think that it's a point worth clearing up. -- User:Captain Disdain 02:04, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC) :Oh, Sam Lake's Finnish, all right. His real name is Sami Järvi; "Sam Lake" is just his a pen name. (It's a direct translation; "Järvi" is "Lake" in English.) And no, I don't think it was a nod to the Scandinavian heritage of Remedy, either -- well, I pretty much ''know'' that it wasn't one -- but the misconception that it is one exists; I've seen people come up with that before, because they don't realize that the Norse myths don't really have anything to do with Finland. That's why I put it in the "this is often seen as a nod..." form. :Anyway, I'm glad it makes sense to you; it's ''way'' too late over here, and I really shouldn't be messing about with articles at this hour. Thanks for the feedback. -- User:Captain Disdain 02:31, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC) ==lots of edits, not an admin== Hi - I made a list of users who've been around long enough to have made lots of edits but aren't admins. If you're at all interested in becoming an admin, can you please add an '*' immediately before your name in User:Rick Block/WP600 not admins? I've suggested folks nominating someone might want to puruse this list, although there is certainly no guarantee anyone will ever look at it. Thanks. -- user:Rick Block (user talk:Rick Block) 16:58, Jun 18, 2005 (UTC) ==current GCOTW color?== Hey, I was thinking of making the Template:Current-GCOTW tag the same color as the Wikipedia:Australian Collaboration of the Fortnight. While the changes you made a little bit ago are good, I thought changing the color will really make it stand out. The current color almost blends into the background. Comments? User:Thunderbrand 02:44, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC) : Yeah, I think blue would work good. I guess the other template should be changed if you decide to. User:Thunderbrand 03:05, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC) ::To tell you the truth, I like the "Sky blue" one the best. Maybe we should ask other people at the project talk page? User:Thunderbrand 04:58, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC) ::: Now that I've seen the other template with Sky blue, it does look a tad dark. The "some sort of blue" should do fine. User:Thunderbrand 01:03, Jun 21, 2005 (UTC) ==ISU images== thanks for the note. i did take all the isu pics aside from fells. how should i secure permission to use it. User:Grahamalonian :this is the site with the Fell image i used [http://www.masterplan.ilstu.edu/images/Historical/People/jfell.jpg] User:Grahamalonian thanks a ton. been using wikipedia for ages now, finally worked up the nerve to alter things when i was frustrated with some lack of images and basic info. User:Grahamalonian 04:15, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC) == Sega Dreamcast discussion, image edit war == Curiously, you didn't report my supposed accusations of personal attacks in Talk:Sega Dreamcast. You only denounced me in the 3RR because you was feel provoked with the quarrel. Sincerely, I'm disappointed for suffering attacks for pure vanity and the lack of argument. You not justified all your attacks and your offense irony, just when a Moderator arrives you simply take off your body with the phrase "''these image guys''". I learned a thing with you: vanity ruins any argument and corrupts the common-sense, stimulating the coward behavior. I ask to you definitely stop this autoritarian acts with my participations in Wikipedia, because I'm tired of you erase my contributions, clean my tags and say what I'm do or when I'm wrong since I started the participation in Computer and video games project. Sincerely, --User:Mateusc 19:48, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC) :: You continue made me personal attacks and now talk about "no patience with you". This is curious, because you engaged against me and now lost your reasons. I'm not making any type of attack, I was only antagonized in all the case by you, ironized, offended, since you ranaway from the quarrel after successive attacks. Please, I ask for you that ceases the attacks and the offensive ironies because you commit to each cited phrase me. --User:Mateusc 22:12, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

==Hello== My name is Kevin and I've been with Wikipedia since August of 2003. I was born in Peoria, Illinois in 1981 and graduated from Illinois State University in 2004. I majored in Information Systems and minored in Business Administration. My favorite language that I plan to never use is COBOL. I also dread the fact that I know JCL, Visual Basic, C (programming language), and Java (programming language). My main contributions deal with the James Bond series of films and novels. For the record (because I have been asked), I support no current actor to replace Pierce Brosnan in the 2006 Bond film ''Casino Royale (2006 movie)''. That is to say I have no favorite. My favorite Bond film is ''Goldfinger'', while my current favorite novel is ''From Russia With Love''. My favorite actor to play Bond was none other than Sean Connery. I also liked Timothy Dalton, George Lazenby, and Brosnan, but not Roger Moore. I simply loathe ''A View to a Kill''. :) I also do a lot of work with computer and video game related articles and am a participant with Wikipedia:WikiProject Computer and video games where I am the co-creator along with User:Mrwojo, of the current infobox found on a good portion of all computer and video game articles. Also a member of Wikipedia:WikiProject Wiki Syntax. ==Currently in progress== *TV shows: ''Lost (2004 television series)'', ''Alias (TV series)'', and ''24 (television)'' (when it's not being technologically-stupid) *Reading: ''Colonel Sun'' **Previously: ''Octopussy and The Living Daylights'' *Playing: ''Far Cry'', ''Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil'' *Awaiting: ''Batman Begins'', ''Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince''
