Please see the entry under Musical Instruments before to much gets duplicated. It is not right to use the title Instruments for just musical instruments. What about lab instruments, medical instruments etc.? ---- OK. Better? --WillWare

User instrument templates are intended to allow easy identification of users who play musical instruments. They can be incorporated into user pages in the same way as Wikipedia:Babel, upon which they are based. You can add a Wikipedia:Instruments box to your user page by following these instructions: * Start off with {{subst:Instr- * Then add the number of instrument templates you want to display, followed by | ** e.g. So, for example, would indicate a professional pianist with intermediate ability on the saxophone. would indicate someone able to play the violin and clarinet to an advanced level, the oboe to an intermediate level, and the saxophone at novice level. (Note that the subst: part is not strictly necessary, but eases load on the servers by avoiding having to look up a template inside a template.) You can also add stand-alone language templates by following the format. These templates add you to the category associated with your level of ability, and to the overall category for that instrument. To find someone who plays a particular instrument, see :Category:user instruments, and follow the links. You can help expand this system by creating templates for your instrument. Please try to avoid using instrument codes which should be used for a language under the ISO 639 designation system.
