Inorganic compounds by element

This page aims to list concisely all of the common inorganic compound & organometallic compounds of each element, whether or not they have an existing page. These are compounds that in User:Walkerma humble opinion warrant their own individual pages. Compounds are listed by chemical element rather than purely alphabetically as in list of inorganic compounds. Please add (to both lists) any new compounds that have been omitted. The page is still under construction- more elements will be added as time allows. See the discussion page for more detail. See also: List of inorganic compounds, List of organic compounds. == Elements == === Aluminium === Alane, Aluminium bromide, Aluminium chloride, Aluminium fluoride, Aluminium gallium arsenide, Aluminium hydroxide, Aluminium isopropoxide, Aluminium nitrate, Aluminium nitride, Aluminium oxide, Aluminium sulfate, Diisobutylaluminium hydride, Diethylaluminium chloride, Lithium_aluminium_hydride, Methylaluminoxane, Triethylaluminium, Trimethylaluminium === Antimony === Antimony(III) fluoride, Antimony(V) fluoride, Antimony(III) chloride, Antimony(V) chloride, Antimony(III) oxide, Antimony(V) oxide, Antimony(III) sulfide, Antimony(V) sulfide, Indium antimonide, Potassium antimonyl tartrate, Potassium hexafluoroantimonate(V), Sodium hexafluoroantimonate(V), Stibine Triphenylstibine === Arsenic === Arsenic(III) bromide, Arsenic(III) chloride, Arsenic(V) fluoride, Arsenic(III) oxide, Arsenic(V) oxide, Arsenic(III) sulfide, Arsine, Dimethylarsinic acid, Gallium arsenide, Potassium hexafluoroarsenate(V), Sodium hydrogen arsenate, Sodium metaarsenite, Thorin, Triphenylarsine === Barium === Barium acetate, Barium carbonate, Barium chloride, Barium copper oxide, Barium hydroxide, Barium nitrate, Barium oxide, Barium peroxide, Barium sulfate, Barium sulfide, Barium titanate(IV), Yttrium barium copper oxide === Beryllium === Beryllium chloride, Beryllium fluoride, Beryllium nitrate, Beryllium oxide, Beryllium sulfate Beryllium sulfite === Bismuth === Bismuth(III) acetate, Bismuth(III) chloride, Bismuth(III) fluoride, Bismuth(III) nitrate, Bismuth(III) oxide Bismuth oxychloride Bismuth strontium calcium copper oxide, Bismuth subcarbonate, Bismuth subnitrate, Bismuth subsalicylate, Bismuth(III) trifluoromethanesulfonate, Triphenylbismuth === Boron === Borabenzene, Borane-tetrahydrofuran complex, Borazole, Boric acid, Boron carbide, Boron nitride, Boron oxide , Boron tribromide, Boron trichloride, Boron trifluoride, Carborane, Decaborane, Diborane, Lanthanum boride Lithium borohydride, Lithium tri-sec-butylborohydride, Lithium triethylborohydride, Sodium borohydride, Sodium cyanoborohydride, Sodium tetrafluoroborate, Sodium tetraphenylborate, Sodium triacetoxyborohydride, Tetraborane, Tetrafluoroboric acid, Titanium boride, Trimethyl borate, Trimethylboroxine, Tungsten boride === Bromine === Aluminium bromide, Ammonium bromide, Boron tribromide, Bromic acid, Bromine monochloride, Bromine monoxide, Bromine pentafluoride, Bromine trifluoride, Calcium bromide Carbon tetrabromide, Copper(I) bromide, Copper(II) bromide, Hydrobromic acid, Hydrogen bromide, Hypobromous acid Iodine monobromide, Iron(II) bromide, Iron(III) bromide, Lead(II) bromide, Lithium bromide, Magnesium bromide, Mercury(I) bromide, Mercury(II) bromide, Phosphorus pentabromide, Phosphorus tribromide, Potassium bromide, Potassium bromate, Silicon tetrabromide, Silver bromide, Sodium bromide, Sodium bromate, Thionyl bromide, Tin(II) bromide, Zinc bromide === Cadmium === Cadmium carbonate, Cadmium chloride, Cadmium iodide, Cadmium oxide, Cadmium selenide, Cadmium sulfide === Caesium === Caesium carbonate, Caesium chloride, Caesium fluoride, Caesium hydroxide, Caesium iodide, Caesium sulfate === Calcium === Calcium acetate, Calcium bicarbonate, Calcium boride, Calcium bromide, Calcium carbide, Calcium carbonate, Calcium chloride, Calcium citrate, Calcium cyanamide, Calcium fluoride, Calcium fluorophosphate, Calcium gluconate, Calcium hydride, Calcium hydrogen phosphate, Calcium hydroxide, Calcium hypochlorite, Calcium iodide, Calcium molybdate, Calcium nitrate, Calcium oxalate, Calcium oxide, Calcium peroxide, Calcium phosphate, Calcium silicate, Calcium sulfate, Calcium sulfide, Calcium titanate, Calcium tungstate, Calcium zirconate === Carbon === This list focusses only on inorganic carbon compounds- some of these such as urea may be "borderline" but have been included for completeness. Inorganic compounds by element

One problem with purely alphabetical listings is the difficulty in locating related compounds that may begin with different letters. This list aims to solve that problem so that (for example) compounds such as aluminium chloride, lithium aluminium hydride, methylaluminoxane and trimethylaluminium can all be found near to each other. The format is designed to be concise and to avoid excessive scrolling. These are compounds that in User:Walkerma humble opinion warrant their own individual pages, based on research in chemistry books, catalogues and also Google/Altavista searches. I realise that I may have unwittingly omitted important compounds- already I have seen a new page for methylaluminoxane appear, I was unaware of the importance of this. Therefore feel free to add new compounds if these are significant enough- ideally with a page already written!. However don't just add random compounds from catalogues without serious evaluation. A red link could be regarded as a page request, so this list serves a secondary purpose- it gives people involved with Wikipedia:WikiProject_Chemicals some idea of what has been achieved so far, and what still needs to be done to achieve a decent coverage of inorganics. Once the page is established, I plan to add a link from each element page, for example from calcium to Inorganic_compounds_by_element#Calcium. I add the next element to this page periodically, when the fancy takes me. There is still a lot to do, but a significant amount has already been done, and I estimate that I will complete the element listing by the end of 2005 or so. If you decide you want to add content, please add one complete element at a time (unless just editing existing elements!). Here is a summary of the main purposes for the page: # Easy way to locate compounds # Checklist- what we've done, what we need to do # Convenient way to link to all compounds of a given element such as Inorganic_compounds_by_element#Calcium User:Walkerma 17:44, 22 Apr 2005 (UTC)
