He was born in Aichi, Japan. == Biography == Hidehiko Yoshida won the gold medal in Judo in the 1992 Olympics and is a current star of the Pride Fighting Championships in Japan. He is known for his great grappling ability and granite chin. His notable victories include decisive armbar submissions over MMA legend Don Frye and K1 champion Mark Hunt. Yoshida's last bout was a rematch against Pride's Middleweight champion, Vanderlei Silva, in April 2005. Although he lost a split decision, the fact that he has almost twice beaten the recognized #1 middleweight in the world cemented his place as one of the world's greatest fighters. He is one of the few fighters who still wears a gi when he fights.
