Heze is a city counting more than 100 000 inhabitants in the province of Shandong within the People's Republic of China. In Heze, a city within a coal-mining area, about 5 % of the population are Christians. == Laogai == Heze Prison is a prison where workers have to work in Heze Shengjian Machine Tool Works. Its assets at the end of the 20th century were at about 2 million $. It was established in 1960. Another element of the Laogai system is Heze Reeducation through Labor.
