Giganta is a DC Comics supervillain, and a member of the Legion of Doom in the 1970s animated cartoon TV series ''Super Friends''. In the TV series, she has the ability to grow to giant size (with accompanying super strength) simply by willing it. She typically dresses in various forms of animal skins, presumably treating them so that they grow along with her when she uses her powers. Giganta's real name has never been revealed. According to the TV series she was hiking in the mountains one day when she stumbled across the magic dust used by Apache Chief. Giganta stole the dust and used it on herself, thus becoming a hundred times larger, stronger -- and more evil. In the comics, she had a quite different origin. A foe of the Golden Age of comic books Wonder Woman, she was an ape who was transformed into a woman. She was part of one of comics' first supervillain teams, Villany Inc.
