Georgia guy

Hello! This is the Georgia guy! ==About me== *I was born in 1985. *I first got Internet access in 1997. *I first stumbled across Wikipedia in mid-2003 *I started editing Wikipedia in early 2004, under various IP's of the form 66.32.xxx.xxx or 66.245.xxx.xxx *During 2004, I learned a lot about Wikipedia, including the names of various registered Wikipedians and just about everything that anyone (as opposed to just registered Wikipedians) has the right to do. ==Letter number combinations== User:Georgia guy/Letter number combinations Any comments?? Any registered Wikipedian (including Jimbo Wales) feel free to leave me messages on my User_talk:Georgia guy page; feel free to ask any appropriate questions. Not the most helpful comment! I feel sure this debate has gone on before but I am new to it and would appreciate a bit of elaboration. How can (carefully selected) advertising do any harm? I'm active at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion, and after a week, all images that have been listed and not rescued can be deleted by any admin. So I did. Don't worry - I'm not an out-of-control bot or anything. :) Best regards, – User:Quadell (User_talk:Quadell) (Wikipedia:Image sleuthing) 00:29, Jan 30, 2005 (UTC) Hi, Georgia Guy... GG, okay? I found you on the UFO page, and gotta wondey if any intelligent life on earth really thinks there are little green men sneaking in and out among us, or just perhaps maybe some of our own species might not be up to no-good. Whaddya think? Could there really be, among the "infinite" planetary possibilities, an infinite number of planets that support life...like our own...with common history and culture...and advanced technology...(similar to our own WW2 stuff)...and even have the urge to dominate our world, or perhaps to save us from ourselves, OR do you suppose that with only a finite (ie, definite) number of planets, not really infinite at all, it is possibly MORE LIKELY that some post-WW2 group of humans actually think they can pass themselves off as a "superior race from outer space." That couldn't be plausible, could it? I mean, if it was really plausible that humans wanted to present themselves as superiors, surely we would have been told on TV... I mean, doesn't the government make sure that only the truth is told on TV? So, if it was true that UFO's were really from earth, around the time of WW2, wouldn't our government make the TV tell us so? Whaddya think, GG? == Page moves == I saw your note on User:RdSmith4's now-deleted talk page. Heh, that wasn't me, it was Wikipedia:List of banned users#Willy on Wheels impersonating me. 17:02, 5 Feb 2005 (UTC) ==Try to be polite== Hi- Wikipedia really isn't the place for rants, insults, etc. That's what Internet Relay Chat is for. I found your tone on the Talk:Pop-Tarts page to be a little inappropriate and over the top as a repose to a simple comment about an encyclopedia article.User:Ike9898 15:50, Feb 6, 2005 (UTC) ==Reversion of vandalism== Hi. It hasn't closed yet simply because there are WAY more VfDs added to the queue each day than there are administrators to deal with them. Actually, it doesn't take an admin to do the redirect that the discussion calls for: you're more than welcome to be bold and do it yourself. In fact, you could close the discussion yourself, since the consensus wasn't "delete." User:Joy Stovall 21:55, Mar 1, 2005 (UTC) :The full whammy set of instructions are Wikipedia:Deletion_process. The instructions you'd be most interested in are # 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6. In a nutshell....Find the discussion on the WP:VFD/Old page. Edit the discussion (not the entire page.), and type at the very top (above the article title) RESULT. ~~~~ and at the bottom I personally like to boldface the "result" but that's a style issue. Let me know if you have any other questions. We get very backlogged at the WP:VFD/Old, and would love your help. There are lots of article with an outcome of "redirect," or "merge," or "keep." Anyone can handle these. It seems to work best if admins do the "delete" discussions, so we can close the discussion and delete the article in one fell swoop. Cheers! User:Joy Stovall 23:35, Mar 1, 2005 (UTC) :*Contgratulations! The VfD closure worked fine! The only thing I forgot to mention is that when an article isn't deleted, we also add a short message to its talk page that links to the VfD discussion. Since I was a doofus and forgot to tell you, I've done it myelf. You can see it Talk:Three halves. User:Joy Stovall 01:18, Mar 2, 2005 (UTC) For future reference: Please place the notice, result, above the section title, and don't forget to sign your name when closing the debate. You only need to sign your name for the portion. --User:AllyUnion User talk:AllyUnion 12:17, 4 Mar 2005 (UTC) == Graham's number == Well done! Now, did I mention it can be proven by mathematical induction !! User:Securiger 11:52, 9 Mar 2005 (UTC) == Dupe Sections == I'm not sure what happened there, but I suspect it was partially due to the edit conflict between your edits and my edits and the fact that I was editing each section on that page separately. One or the other of us probably got things mixed up when the Edit Conflict warning came up. I think we have it straightened out now, at any rate. :) You sort of implied that this has happened before. Oh, and I would request that you not use the template if you can't be sure that the user will be blocked the next time. Thanks, User:Maclyn611 14:42, 27 Apr 2005 (UTC) == Callsigns == The second and third rules are correct as you state them. The difficulty is that far too many of the articles in Wikipedia right now are simply wrong. The FCC is the authoritative source; if people are unsure about the correct callsign (or even if they think they are absolutely sure), they should look it up in the database to be positive. When I notice them, I will fix them, at least to the extent possible for an anon. The first rule is correct except insofar as the FCC does not grant "-AM" and never has. (For Canadian stations, things are different: the suffix ["-FM" or "-TV"] is always a part of the callsign.) This is all explained in laborious detail at North American call sign. User:18.26.0.18 01:09, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC) I don't need any explanation; I've been doing this (Web content about radio history) for more than a decade now, and I have a more than passing familiarity with 47 CFR. User:18.26.0.18 01:12, 28 Apr 2005 (UTC) == Mistaken Identity == You recently accused me of vandalizing pages on Wikipedia. While my ISP has a dynamic IP setting, I have edited some content on these pages, especially to remove vulgar or offensive content that people have decided to "add." So, I'm not sure what you're accusing me of, but I suggest in the future that you get the right person. I notice from other posts on here that you're quick to accuse. From now on, I'll be happy to leave the jibberish that I find on here. 69.47.22.195 == What's happening == Who keeps deleting the articles that I was posting in "Educational years"? == No Need == Their is no need for discusion, the article Student already covers the said sunjects, as well as the similar article allready redirect to the page. Creation of a seperate page for each level would not only be redundantm but a waste of article space. --User:Boothy443 | User talk:Boothy443 01:51, 8 May 2005 (UTC) == Let there be one, two, many Atlantas == Hey Georgia guy, You just reversed my article because it was allegedly "vandalism". Atlanta, aside from being the name of the famous city in Georgia, is also the name of many other people, places, and things around the world, including my dear Atlanta, Argentine Soccer Team. In the future I would suggest less accusing choice of words when performing edits.
