Was that GNU AIM or GNOME AIM? I believe it was GNU, but it was dropped because it wasn't an official GNU project. it was originally a GTK+ app without GNOME support, so i don't see how that would fit. (maybe i could ask one of the maintainers) -jrousseau

Originally written by Mark Spencer for Unix-like operating systems, it now runs on a variety of platforms, including Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, SkyOS and Trolltech Personal Digital Assistant system, Qtopia. Recently, the Gaim developers have started to separate the core code—which handles things such as network connections and messaging—from the Graphical user interface code, which controls how these actions are presented to the user. After the code split is complete, it will be possible to write client programs using a developer's GUI library of choice. i've noticed people keep putting up screenshots with other peoples screen names in the buddylist. i think this is a privacy issue. either the names should be bogus or aliases should be used to protect the "buddies" of one who takes the screenshot. just my 2 cents ------ You are absolutely right, I hadn't thought about it.
