DvaitaDvaita, a school of Vedanta (the most widespread Hindu theology), made popular by Shri Madhvacharya, stresses strict distinction between God (expressed as Vishnu) and souls. Satguru Sivaya Subramuniyaswami explains dualism in his book, ''Dancing with Siva'', by stating that in dualism, God is seen as the efficient cause of the universe and not as the material cause in that He is the potter causing the clay (souls) to emerge, rather than serving as the material or instrumental cause (the source of the clay) itself. Hence, according to Madhva, souls are not created by God but depend on Him to evolve or transform. == See also == * Advaita, an opposing philosophy that rejects duality * :Category:Madhva religious figures === External links === * [http://www.madhva.net Portal and Webring] * [http://www.dvaita.org Portal about Dvaita Philosophy] * [http://www.vaishnava.com/dvaitafaq.htm FAQ on Dvaita] * [http://www.tatvavada.org Resource on Life & Teachings of Madhvacharya] * http://www.nyayasudha.org * http://www.vidyapeetha.net * [http://www.nalanda.demon.co.uk/vedanta.htm#The%20Theist%20Revolt Hindu response against Buddhism] * [http://www.iep.utm.edu/m/madhva.htm Madhva's differences with Sankara and Ramanuja.] See other meanings of words starting from letter: DDA | DB | DC | DE | DF | DG | DH | DI | DJ | DK | DL | DM | DN | DO | DP | DR | DS | DT | DU | DW | DX | DY | DZ |Words begining with Dvaita: Dvaita Dvaita_Vedanta
