Hi Dmb0000006, thanks for contributing to the various biology articles. You probably should look at our Wikipedia:Naming conventions and Wikipedia:Manual of Style, to make sure you create articles that use the proper wikipedia format. For example, please don't forget to actually include and bold the name of the article in the article itself. Also, please consider adding content to existing articles if they are already related (e.g. genome and genetic makeup) rather than writing a one sentence article, which is unlikely to be expanded. If you do write a short article, which is likely to be expanded, please note it as a Wikipedia:stub article, by including the message at the end of the article. Thanks. --User:Lexor|User talk:Lexor 00:58, 20 Feb 2004 (UTC)

Did you just invent this "spliceome" term? User:Stewartadcock 22:51, 20 Feb 2004 (UTC)
:Actually I have heard it (but it should be spelled spliceosome) used in bioinformatics, it gets Google hits if it's correctly spelled [http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=spliceosome]. It perhaps doesn't warrant a complete article to itself, however. --User:Lexor|User talk:Lexor 23:01, 20 Feb 2004 (UTC)
::Hmm, I have to correct myself. The spliceosome is the the actual molecule that does the splicing, but the spliceome is the set of all alternative splices. I suggest that spliceome redirect to spliceosome, and incorporate that material into a new section in spliceosome. --User:Lexor|User talk:Lexor 23:37, 20 Feb 2004 (UTC)
::Great that you learn something! Cheers, Dan. --User:Dmb000006 19:11, 11 May 2004 (UTC)
Could you hold off on pages like 'Ashley Bolser' please? Thanks, User:Mark Richards 18:16, 11 May 2004 (UTC)
:Hi there - I was communicating - let me know if I deleted something in error, and I'll put it back if there was useful content, Yours, User:Mark Richards 18:20, 11 May 2004 (UTC)
**I suggest you use subpages to create promotional pages for your friends and family as the ones you made are likely to be deleted, since they don't comply with WikiPedia's policy. Subpages can be made simply by linking like this User:Dmb000006/Page_name. You could also point them to theWikiPedia:FAQ.
Sincerely, User:MacGyverMagic 18:30, May 11, 2004 (UTC)
:: Sorry guys, you can probaly tell I am a newbie. I was creating a page for my brother (the Ashley Bolser) which was just to give him some fun and let him see what wiki is all about. Thanks for being patient with me. --User:Dmb000006 19:11, 11 May 2004 (UTC)
No worries - just let someone know if you want to do something like that, and we can advise a way to do it that will no get deleted. Have fun! User:Mark Richards 19:25, 11 May 2004 (UTC)
==Ashley Bolser & Wikipedia:Speedy deletions==
Hi. I copied the following from Wikipedia:Speedy deletions. -- User:Chris 73 | User talk:Chris 73 08:19, 12 May 2004 (UTC)
Copy from Wikipedia:Speedy deletions
*I made a demonstration page for my brother who is an expert in Direct Marketing. I sent him the link, and added a link to 'his' page Ashley Bolser to give him an idea of what wikki is. Pleas don't delete these pages, as he will add appropriate content. (p.s. If it makes a difference he is currently the only Ashley Bolser in the world! --User:Dmb000006 18:11, 11 May 2004 (UTC)
**What's going on? I am not being given a fair trial!
***May I suggest you make the page under your user page, e.g. User:Dmb000006/Ashley Bolser. The articles in the main space are not to be used for personal messages, so the deletion of ''"A man, A plan, A canal, Ashley Bolser!"'' was justified. -- User:Chris 73 | User talk:Chris 73 00:03, 12 May 2004 (UTC)

== Scilebrity ==
What programme was the word used on? User:MacGyverMagic|User talk:MacGyverMagic 21:32, Dec 21, 2004 (UTC)
Thanks for the quick reply. I'll pass the info about Scilebrity on the people on VfD .
In your preferences (see the top bar in the monobook skin), there is an option "your nickname (for signatures)". I put the following code in there: User:MacGyverMagic|User talk:MacGyverMagic which results in my current signature.
Hope that helps. User:MacGyverMagic|User talk:MacGyverMagic 18:59, Dec 22, 2004 (UTC)
:Don't sweat it. I'm sure I copied from someone else. :) Please note, I changed the code above, something seems to be screwed up with my sig lately. User:MacGyverMagic|User_talk:MacGyverMagic">User:MacGyverMagic|User:MacGyverMagic|User talk:MacGyverMagic 08:24, Dec 23, 2004 (UTC)
::The new Mediawiki software adds the extra coding to your signature, remove it from your preferences (User:Name) and you're all set. User:MacGyverMagic|User_talk:MacGyverMagic 08:43, Dec 23, 2004 (UTC)

== Spell Checker Poem ==
FYI, you should probably cite the source of the spell checker poem, which was originally written by Jerrold H. Zar. http://www.bios.niu.edu/zar/poem.pdf --User:Alan Au 18:33, 22 May 2005 (UTC)
Dmb000006
Hello!
I am a User:Dmb000006/Funktopia.
I had a funny experience when I very first used wiki. The page I was creating was suddenly edited by a swarm of loving editors, who cleaned up my grammar, fixed my spelling, and added links and cross-references. I was astounded! Such caring people!
From then on I never gave a jot about spelling, grammar or style much - I like to spit it all out in a stream of consciousness style.
Hopefully that first kind-hearted individual is still out there - still fixing posts all over the wiki wiki web!
If you are that poster, and you read this - God speed sir! (and could you clean this up a bit for me?).
Wiki = hawian for quick!
