Dhahran International Airport[[Image:Saudi dhahran airport.jpg|right|thumb|200px|Dhahran Air Terminal building inside. US Army Corps of Engineers picture]] The Dhahran International Airport in Dhahran served the Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia in Saudi Arabia. It is one of the architectural works of Minoru Yamasaki, and was completed in 1961. The architecture is a blending of traditional islam forms with modern technology, for example the flight control tower has the appearance of a minaret. Images of the terminal have been used on Saudi banknote. The terminal is viewed as having influenced the design of a number of important buildings throughout the Middle East. After opening King Fahd International Airport near Dammam, Dhahran Air Terminal has been shifted to a major Royal Saudi Air Force base and is now called King Abdulaziz Air Base. Airports of Saudi Arabia Dhahran International AirportKing Fahd Air Terminal in Dammam is not the same old Dhahran Air Terminal in Dhahran, I wonder who named this article. The relevant text in the Dhahran article should be corrected as well. -- User:Eagleamn 14:44, May 21, 2005 (UTC) See other meanings of words starting from letter: DDA | DB | DC | DE | DF | DG | DH | DI | DJ | DK | DL | DM | DN | DO | DP | DR | DS | DT | DU | DW | DX | DY | DZ |Words begining with Dhahran_International_Airport: Dhahran_International_Airport Dhahran_International_Airport
