Cyangugu or Ciangugu is a provinces of Rwanda and town in south western Rwanda, lying at the southern end of Lake Kivu, east of Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The settlement has two main areas: Cyangugu itself is the lakeside resort, with ''Kamembe'' lies inland as is the industrial and transport centre. The town is also home to an airport and a prisonand lies near Nyungwe Forest National Park. The coordinates of the town of Cyangugu are 2.48S, 28.90E. Its population in 2002 was approximately 19,900.
