* ''"C." brentbaatar'' ''\"Ctenacodon\"'' (not Ctenacodon) is an extinct mammal from the Upper Jurassic of North America. It was a member of the also extinct order of Multituberculata, suborder Plagiaulacida, family Plagiaulacidae, and lived at the same time as more famous creatures such as ''Allosaurus''. The genus ''"Ctenacodon"'' is known from one species, ''"Ctenacodon" brentbaatar'' (Bakker, 1998), the fossil remains of which were found in the Upper Jurassic Morrison Formation in Wyoming, USA. Identification is based on a well-preserved upper tooth (1 mm long). The species name honours the Wyoming paleontologist Brent Breithaupt. Baatar, Mongolian language for "hero", is apparently a reference to the heroics involved in surviving while being very small and surrounded by dinosaurs. == References == * R.T. Ctenacodon (Plagiaulacidae)

The quotes in the name are plain ugly IMHO. How about moving this to Ctenacodon (Plagiaulacidae), moving Ctenacodon to Ctenacodon (Allodontidae), and making Ctenacodon a disambiguation page? --User:Magnus Manske 10:59 Apr 15, 2003 (UTC) Hi Magnus,
'Ctenacodon' will presumably be renamed at same time or other, but I've no idea when. That's up to the author of the species.
Another difficulty is that "Ctenacodon Plagiaulacidae" doesn't and can't exist. In zoological nomenclature, each genus has to have a different name. It'd be incorrect.
--User:KTDykes Apr 15, 2003 :Well, the quotes aren't actually correct either, are they? The stuff within the brackets is just what we do on Wikipedia to resolve naming conflicts, it isn't really a part of the article's "actual" name. I think we should find something along those lines to move this article to until the species gets a distinct name. User:Bryan Derksen 02:41, 12 Aug 2004 (UTC) ::I waited a week and then went ahead and moved it. If a better solution develops it can always be moved again.
