CiaranSaint Ciaran of Clonmacnoise was an early Ireland bishop. The saint is generally believed to be one of four bishops to have preceded Saint Patrick. (See also Ailbhe, Declan, and Ibar.) He was the tutor of Carthage the Elder. In 545 he founded the Clonmacnoise; he died about one year later of the yellow plague in his early thirties. His Calendar of saints is March 5.
