BWI Rail StationThe BWI Airport Rail Station is a train station in Linthicum, Maryland located near the Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). It is not located in the airport terminal itself; a free shuttle bus transportation operates every 15-20 minutes between the station and the airport. Taxis also run between the station and the airport, as the buses are often crowded during morning and evening rush hours and peak travel hours. Dedicated on October 23, 1980, it was the first train station in the United States specifically serving an airport. It should not be confused with the BWI Rail transit in Baltimore, Maryland station, located on Pier E (the International Terminal). The small station building, which houses a ticket office, waiting room, and a small concessions area, is dwarfed by the neighboring parking garage, filled by the many local commuting who ride the rails to work in Baltimore, Maryland or Washington, DC. The station is served by the Maryland_Area_Regional_Commuter#Penn_Line of the Maryland Area Regional Commuter regional rail system, which operates on Amtrak's Northeast Corridor rails. It is served by these Amtrak routes: * Vermonter * The Federal * Carolinian * Metroliner * Regional (Amtrak) (Inland Route) * Regional (Amtrak) * Acela Express Anne Arundel County, Maryland Amtrak stations Rail transport in the United States Transportation in Baltimore See other meanings of words starting from letter: BBA | BC | BD | BE | BF | BG | BH | BI | BJ | BK | BL | BM | BN | BO | BP | BR | BS | BT | BU | BW | BX | BY | BZ |Words begining with BWI_Rail_Station: BWI_Rail_Station
