BS7799BS7799 (or BS7799-1) is a standard published by the British Standards Institute (BSI) in 1995 and most recently revised in 2005. It is titled "Information Technology - Code of practice for information security management." It was originally written by the United Kingdom Government's Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), and after being re-published several times, was eventually adopted by ISO as ISO 17799. However, a second part to BS7799 was subsequently published in 1999, known as BS7799-2, titled "Information Security Management Systems - Specification with guidance for use." BS7799-2 focuses on how to implement ISO 17799 and Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). The 2002 version introduces the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) model. BS7799-2 is intended to 'dovetail' with other quality standards, such as ISO 9000. ==Reference== * BS 7799-2:2002 * ISO/IEC 17799:2005 ==External links== *[http://www.vega.com VEGA Group: BS 7799 Specialists] *[http://www.standardsdirect.org/iso17799.htm BS7799 Source from BSI] *[http://iso-17799.safemode.org BS7799 & ISO 17799 Wiki] *[http://www.bsi-global.com/ British Standard Institute] *[http://www.17799central.com BS7799 Central] Standards Bs7799#REDIRECT BS7799 See other meanings of words starting from letter: BBA | BC | BD | BE | BF | BG | BH | BI | BJ | BK | BL | BM | BN | BO | BP | BR | BS | BT | BU | BW | BX | BY | BZ |Words begining with BS7799: BS7799 Bs7799
