Bridge Protocol Data Units (BPDUs) are the frames which carry the Spanning Tree Protocol information. A network switch sends a BPDU frame using the unique MAC address of the port itself as a source address, and a destination address of the Spanning Tree Protocol multicast address 01:80:C2:00:00:00.
