Axel GyllenkrokAxel Gyllenkrok, or ''Gyllenkrook'', born July 14, 1783 in Gödeslöv parish, belonging to Malmö in southern Sweden, died May 18, 1865 in Lund, was a Swedish baron, military general, and from 1723 governour of Gothenburg. He is most known as the general quartermaster of King Charles XII of Sweden. After the King's defeat in Poltava 1709, Gyllenkrok followed the King to Turkey, but was captured by the Russians at a mission in Poland.
