At-Ta'i'''Al-Ta'i''' was the Abbasid Caliph in Baghdad from 974 to 991. Very little is known about his personal and official life. During his Caliphate, Syria was torn by contending factions — Fatimid, Turkish, and Carmathian; while the Buwayhid dynasyty was split up into parties that were fighting among themselves. After holding the office for seventeen years, al-Ta'i was deposed and cast into captivity by a Buwayhid ruler who craved al-Ta'i's property. {| align="center" cellpadding="2" border="2" |- | width="30%" align="center" rowspan="2" | Preceded by: al-Muti | width="40%" align="center" | Abbasid | width="30%" align="center" rowspan="2" | Succeeded by: al-Qadir |- | width="40%" align="center" | Caliph |} Abbasid caliphs See other meanings of words starting from letter: AAB | AC | AD | AE | AF | AG | AH | AI | AJ | AK | AL | AM | AN | AO | AP | AR | AS | AT | AU | AW | AX | AY | AZ |Words begining with At-Ta\'i: At-Ta'i At-Ta'if
