Asadi TusiAsadi Tusi (born: Tus, Iranian provice of Khorasan - died: 1072 Tabriz, Iran). Asadi is arguably the second most important Persian poet of Iranian national Epic, after Ferdowsi who also happens to come from the same town. Asadi's most significant work is ''Garshasp-nama'' [The Book (or Epic) of Garshasp]. His other important contribution is that he was the first person to methodically compile and publish a dictionary of Persian language language. During Asadi's time, and for quite some time after that, much of the Khorasan province was under violent attacks and rivalry of various Turkic groups. Many native intellectuals left Khorasan as a result of these conflicts, or they stayed there but lived in seclusion. As a result of such violence and conflicts, Asadi left Khorasan for the Iranian provice of Provinces of Iran (not to be confused with the presend-day Azerbaijan which was only named ''Azerbaijan'' after World War I) and stayed there until his death. His tomb is in city of Tabriz. 1072 deaths See other meanings of words starting from letter: AAB | AC | AD | AE | AF | AG | AH | AI | AJ | AK | AL | AM | AN | AO | AP | AR | AS | AT | AU | AW | AX | AY | AZ |Words begining with Asadi_Tusi: Asadi_Tusi
