Aemilius Asper

Aemilius Asper (fl. late 2nd century AD) was a writer who produced commentaries on Terence, Sallust and Virgil. Although now lost, we know that they dealt with both content and form, and included parallels with other authors. Aelius Donatus is thought to have borrowed freely from Asper. An ''ars'' listed under his name is apocryphal, it being datable to the time of Priscian in the 6th century.
