Aemilius AsperAemilius Asper (fl. late 2nd century AD) was a writer who produced commentaries on Terence, Sallust and Virgil. Although now lost, we know that they dealt with both content and form, and included parallels with other authors. Aelius Donatus is thought to have borrowed freely from Asper. An ''ars'' listed under his name is apocryphal, it being datable to the time of Priscian in the 6th century. == Reference == * Alfred Thomsin, ''Etude sur le commentaire virgilien d'Aemilius Asper'' (Bibliothèque de la Faculté de philosophie et lettres de l'Université de Liège, 1952) Roman era writers See other meanings of words starting from letter: AAB | AC | AD | AE | AF | AG | AH | AI | AJ | AK | AL | AM | AN | AO | AP | AR | AS | AT | AU | AW | AX | AY | AZ |Words begining with Aemilius_Asper: Aemilius_Asper
