Forster that tells the story of a young Englishwoman whose encounter with a handsome young man in Florence may interfere with her marriage plans. == Trivia == Towards the end, Forster's characters quote some unidentified stanzas ("Come down, O maid, from yonder mountain height", etc.). The film stars Maggie Smith (as Charlotte Bartlett), Helena Bonham Carter (as Lucy Honeychurch), Denholm Elliott (as Mr. Emerson), Julian Sands (as George Emerson), Simon Callow (as Mr. Beebe), Judi Dench (as Eleanor Lavish) and Daniel Day-Lewis (as Cecil Vyse). The film won three Academy Awards: Academy Award for Best Art Direction, Academy Award for Costume Design and Academy Award for Writing Adapted Screenplay.
